Slight correction to a para of last post…

Quote:
  1. Is it true that Islam teaches that women are to be treated less than a man?
I hope not. They have equal rights in their own sphere. The present day Muslims may be setting a very BAD example about the rights of women. But that is not from islam. That is all against islam. Women should enjoy great pleasure and happy life in islam

present day Muslims?? what?
Everybody knows that Mohamed beat his 8 yr-old wife and his other wives
that’s setting a great example from the beginning of Islam…

I have heard this too, but please don’t bring this up. Planten, thank you for your replies! I have to ask. Why is it that Muslims pray 5 times a day? Is it manditory that all Muslims pray like that?

I have heard that Muslims guard some type of rock that is sacred to them. Can you please tell me the story behind that?

Art321, there are still Q7 & 8 remaining to be answered. I hope you do not want any reply for 7 & 8. In that case, I will get on with the 5 daily prayers and the rock. What would you like??

Well now, my interest is piqued. I did not know that. Is this in official Islamic documents?

And, really, did you need to use the sensationalist “WOW” smiley? That’s not leading. If it’s a shocking statement it will stand out on it’s own, there’s no need for a visual.

For Art321:
  1. What exactly are the Five Pillars of Islam? Is it true that there is a sixth known as Jihad?
Islam has only five pillars, not six. Some militant Muslim leaders have written that those five pillars are to prepare the Muslims for the sixth pillar i.e. Jihad. ( I won’t name him.). But that is all false teaching. It is very clear that Islam is based on five pillars.

The problem gets multiplied when one gets to know the meaning of Jihad by the Mullas. Jihad is not what they are teaching, that a holy war with weapons. That is not Jihad at all.

The primary Jihad is to struggle to supress ones evil, bad desires. To try to be a better person. To be more spiritual person than a materialist. The Jihad with weapons has many strict conditions which are not found in these times.

Every one cannot get up and make a call for Jihad. There are many conditions. Those conditions are not fulfilled in these days. The Muslims are split up into many sects, even to the point of killing each other. How can there be any Jihad??. It is a sin to kill any one (innocent person) for the difference of religion, for the difference of belief. That is not allowed in Islam. It is a sin to take up arms now.
  1. What exactly do you believe that those verses in the Quran where it commands you to kill non-muslims?
I do not see any verses in the Quran which tell me to kill any innocent non-combatant non-believer. There had been verses to fight against the Kafirs.kafir is not an innocent non-believer. kafir is a hostile, belligrant type of non-believer to whom the message of Islam is given. He/.she after understanding the message, does not believe and does not allow any one to believe. He/she spends money and effort even with arms to dislodge the message of peace i.e. Islam.

Such persons have always been at all times. For instance, King Pharoah of Egypt, and his hosts, had been labeled as Kafirs in the Quran.

The enemies of Jesus have been labelled as Kafirs (I can sow you that.) Similarly the enemies of Muhammad are also Kafir. Every one who does not believe in Muhammad is not kafir. Let any one believe or not believe. But no one has the right to vehemently oppose the system with weapons. Such disbelievers could be killed.

If a christian or a Jew or a Hindu or a Budhist does not believe in Muhammad and is a peaceful person, he/she will not be harmed at all. ( Ispeak for myself only. The othe rmajority Muslims may not agree to me.)

I would request any every one to show me even one verse of the Quran where it is allowed to fight or kill any non-kafir person.
That’s about it. I wish to make this clear, that I DID NOT start this thread to attack your beliefs
.

Thanks for that. I have replied to you in good faith and I wish you all the best of progress/ happy spiritual life. May you be supported (helped) by the Holy Spirit.

no it isn’t in islamic decuments that mohammed (pbuh) beat any of his wifes ,

For Art321,

Your two more questions are as follows:
** Planten, thank you for your replies! I have to ask. Why is it that Muslims pray 5 times a day? Is it manditory that all Muslims pray like that?
I have heard that Muslims guard some type of rock that is sacred to them. Can you please tell me the story behind that?**
  1. Please note that there is a God who created everything. He is one. He had been guiding mankind through his messengers for a very long time. There is no nation to whom God did not send a warner (messenger). Those messengers were all true men of God.
We Muslims believe Muhammad as one of those messengers. He was guided and given messages which are recorded in the form of a book (Quran) in Arabic in original words. Quran is not the only revealed book and Muhammad is not the only prophet. There had been prophets before Muhammad and there had been books before Quran. The Quran authenticates all the previous prophets and the revealed books.

In the Quran is written that we should pray to Allah a few times a day in a certain way. Our prophet practically did it and told us how to pray. He told What to do and what not to do. Similar instructions were given by earlier prophets (those before Muhammad). All were preaching to pray before One God. Even Jesus used to pray to God Almighty.

Prayer is important. It is a vast subject and needs much explanation. I hope nobody would deny prayer. Quran tells that Allah created the Jinn and mankind to serve Allah. Service would need presence and prayer.

Why we pray?? Because we are told to do that. Because it is good for us. We remain clean. We take out some time for ourselves and we are not involved too much in money making continously (non-stop). We get a break. It is good for the body and the soul.

Our prayer is mandatory. If we do not do it then it means we are not Catholics (meaning faithful). That would mean disobedience. That would mean we do not care for Allah, for any comamnd of Allah. We could do anything bad after that, being careless. Prayer is mandatory at the times and the way it is prescribed.

Remember that it is not allowed to be praying all the time. That is forbidden. We must work and earn and attend to our family too.
  1. Sorry I do not know anything about a sacred rock. There is a black stone that is fixed in a corner of the Ka’abah ( It is mentioned by Jesus too in a strange way, as a rejected cornerstone). That could be the sacred rock that you mention. It is there and no more sacred than the sacred house (ka’abah). We all have sacred things, sacred books, sacred places. That stone is used as a starting point for going around the circuit of the Ka,abah.

Planten is a heretic. Do not take his views as representing mainstream Islam.
Kadaveri, Thanks for the compliment. I read your heretic link. That was all true and correct report about Ahmadis. I repost my post #29 below. Please comment on what you find wrong or heretic in that post. I do not want to start a debate with you now. Only point out the heretic words in my post #29. Also if possible, try to tell what (Jama’at or sect) you support so that I find out all about your beliefs. Thanks. Welcome.

Could you care to exlain? I assume it includes the
movement?
Planten is an Ahmadi; a heretical sect way outside the boundaries of mainstream Islam. They’re somewhat similar to Mormons as regards to Christianity.

Interesting. That would mean that the House of Islam is divided? Are most Muslims a Ahmadi?

Kadaveri, that is not what I asked for. You should remain within the scope of present posts. Did you find something wrong in my posts?? Then please correct me. It is not good to generalise. I do not know you at all except what i see you writing here.

It appears that you are greatly misinformed person. Anyhow, continue with your missions. If youhave any truth or faith then point out my mistakes in my above posts please. Do not spread the matter.

Another of your mistakes. I do not know Mormons. But I feel that Ahmadis may be more like J W’s for the Catholics.

Dear Kadaveri,

In my past discusssioons with a muslim collegue, ( this is in regards to politics) He started abusing Indian army and Kashmir, saying they are killing his brothers. I was taken aback, and asked him if his family was a Kashmiri, and he said, no, but as muslims they are his brothers. I asked him if the muslims killing muslims in pakistan are not his brothers, and he had no answer for that.

Now you are calling planten a heratic, But i did not here such comments from any other muslim when he was defending Muslim faith for so long.

Wonder what makes ones brother an enemy.

have a nice day.

Interesting. That would mean that the House of Islam is divided? Are most Muslims a Ahmadi?
The house of islam is divided. Sunny islam/muslims make the majority and then you have Shia islam/muslims.

Sunny don’t like the other muslim sects especially Shia

Shia don’t like the other muslim sects and Shia are also considered heretics by Sunni islam.

Ahmadi & other lower muslims sects are all considered as heretics by Sunni islam & other parts of islam

The Ahmadi, such as Planten have their own prophet who came about 200+ years ago way after after mohamad and their motto is “love for all, hatred for none”.

The above is how I understand the house of islam.

Another of your mistakes. I do not know Mormons. But I feel that Ahmadis may be more like J W’s for the Catholics.
I believe Kadaveri is comparing the Ahmadis to the Mormons is because you all have your own prophet which came after mohamad, just like the Mormons have their Joseph Smith as their prophet.
