Muslims, what say you about THIS Jesus?

Mk 2:1-12

When Jesus returned to Capernaum after some days,
it became known that he was at home.
Many gathered together so that there was no longer room for them,
not even around the door,
and he preached the word to them.
They came bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men.
Unable to get near Jesus because of the crowd,
they opened up the roof above him.
After they had broken through,
they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic,
“Child, your sins are forgiven.”
Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves,
"Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming.
Who but God alone can forgive sins?"
Jesus immediately knew in his mind
what they were thinking to themselves,
so he said, "Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?
Which is easier, to say to the paralytic,
‘Your sins are forgiven,’
or to say, ‘Rise, pick up your mat and walk?’
But that you may know
that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth"
—he said to the paralytic,
"I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home."
He rose, picked up his mat at once,
and went away in the sight of everyone.
They were all astounded
and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this.”

And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them,

If you wish, I will make three tents here,
one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
While he was still speaking, behold,
a bright cloud cast a shadow over them,
then from the cloud came a voice that said,
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased;
listen to him.”
When the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate
and were very much afraid.
But Jesus came and touched them, saying,
“Rise, and do not be afraid.”
And when the disciples raised their eyes,
they saw no one else but Jesus alone.

As they were coming down from the mountain,
Jesus charged them,
“Do not tell the vision to anyone
until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”

Muslims believe Jesus (pbuh) was blessed with a holy book , called Injil . Not a single follower took the trouble to memorise that holy book as Muslims keep their holy book in memory. It was not written down during the time of Jesus (pbuh) as holy Quran was recorded in the lifetime of Muhammed (pbuh).

So , the verses of today’s Bible which have similarity with Quran , we accept those as truth. Those verses go against the main teaching of Quran & all other Prophets , we reject them as false.

Pl. remember what Jesus (pbuh) taught you: My Father is greater than I. Bible, John 14:28

Surah 9. Repentance, Dispensation

They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah. there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him). ( 9:31)
 
The Injil (Gospel) is the good news that Christ died for our sins and rose again and is Coming again. It is not a book. This is, in fact, an impossibilty because the books outlining the Gospel (the NT) was not completed until about 90 AD. Furthermore, there is no evidence that Jesus ever recieved any sort of book. Muslims must believe this purely on faith.

BTW, Muslim woman, you have not commented on the verses already brought up. when Jesus says “My Father is greater than I” He is talking about His human nature. In His divine nature he is equal to the Father.

I’m sorry, but this makes no sense. First you say Jesus was given a book - then you say no one memorized this book - then you say it was not written down during time of Jesus. ??? So who took the book from Jesus and lost it? And how did Jesus even have a book if no one wrote anything down during the time of Jesus. I think you may have confused something when you typed this because this makes no sense to me. :confused:

:newidea: Unless you are saying that Jesus was given the holy book by God in his memory - so He had it memorized, but then He failed to write it down or have any of his disciples write it down so the whole message was lost? I guess that makes a little more sense, but it makes Jesus look inept as a prophet - especially if God (who is all-knowing) knew that the apostles wouldn’t be able to remember the message and would somehow corrupt part of it from “kill the unbelievers” to “love your enemies”. :rolleyes:

Where are the saying of Jesus (pbuh) that he as human is lesser but in divine nature , he is equal to God ? Jesus (p) taught you that I am 2 in 1 i.e full human and also 100 % God ?

if there are only 3/4 verses that u really think support your claim but go against the main teaching of OT , NT & all past Prophets , must not u read those verses with context ?
 
That’s exactly what I’m saying, and that’s how I read them. I’m also listening to the Church Jesus established in Matthew 16:18 and John 20:23.😃

That belief comes from the Quran. That has been proved wrong. Sorry no book.

The only worthwhile motivation to continue with this discussion is to ask why the Quran could be wrong?

Do not confuse Muslims with historical facts, they hate history. Muhammad says Jesus was given a book, it means Jesus was parading the streets with a book, period and no history will change what Muhammad said because the almight all-knowing told him so via Jibreel whom people mistook for people they knew.

Plus, did Jesus lose this book, or did someone take it from him and lose it?

Maybe it was lost on the trip to India? :rolleyes:

Jesus said to the boy that his sins were forgiven. He didn’t say to hi ‘’ I forgave your sins’’ .

Prophets are messengers Of God. Tey recieve revelations from God and he he would give his prophets the power to part the sea and heal th sick, would siply also be able to inform them about whom sins will be forgiven.

In the quote you have quoted above your question is answered. Who gave Jesus the son of man the authority to forgive sins on earth?

God.

If he is God why does he need authority?

The question answers itself really.

He isnt God.

The language doesn’t seem strange. It is well known that God forgives sins. Jesus doesn’t need to state that .

Look if Jesus was God he wouldnt beat around the bush . He would say clearly that he is divine or he would order people to worship him.

There are many sons of God in the Old testament. Bieng a son of God means you are agood guy . Not mean that you are devine.

actually he did have to beat around the bush. He knew that because if he was open the Jews would have killed him out in the open. Jesus was very careful with His words, because He knew His hour hasnt come Meedo. Thanks for replying, at least youre not like the other Muslims on this thread who curse each other if they are wrong.
