actually he did have to beat around the bush. He knew that because if he was open the Jews would have killed him out in the open. Jesus was very careful with His words, because He knew His hour hasnt come Meedo. Thanks for replying, at least youre not like the other Muslims on this thread who curse each other if they are wrong.
Hello Ben,

But they killed him any way according to Christianity. I understand that according to Christianity Jesus knew that there are people coming to get him.

He could have confessed (’'knowing that he is goingto be killed any way ‘’) that he is God incarnate.

he didn’t . Till the last minute he kept refering to ‘’ Your God and my God’’ .

I have read the following passage fro the OT .

Malachi 3:6 (New International Version)

6 "I the LORD do not change.

It is a simple sentence that clearly means that God doesn’t change in nature.

best regards,

Yes they did kill HIM but what are you pointing out? Jesus told numerous times before hand that He was going to be betrayed and crucified to His apostles.

I am not sure what you`re actually trying to say.

I am trying to say that even though while he knew he would be killed according to Christianity he didn’t preach he was God.

n your previous post , you say he was very careful to not surprise them with the revelation that he was God so that they don’t kill him.

But here now he knows that he is going to his death and still he didn’t say he was God . What is the point of hiding this fact at this late level of events. why keep a mystery forever , why ot explicitly get people out of their confusion ( if they were confused).

Numbers 23:19 (New International Version)

19 God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?

If God would reveal that he is not a man , and would additionally reveal that his nature doesn’t change . I would be hell scared to believe that Jesus is God .

The verses that i have just quoted in this post and the ones before are too straight to bend . It seems to me that these phrases are much more decisive and straight than trying to deduce that Jesus is God because he said to a boy that his sins are forgiven.

I didn`t say He hid the mystery, I said He was beating around the bush with it, because He knew His time hasn´t come yet. He did confess it many times that He was the Alpha and the Omega, the Bread of Heaven, and ect…

He even said in so many words that He is the LORD of David, but the people didn`t DARE to ask Him any other questions. So there you have it, the New Testament and the Gospel is full of verses that state Jesus is God.

Hey Meedo, not to change the subject, but does that passage not shoot holes in the “God made it look like JEsus died on the Cross” thing that Muslims claim?

Lord doesnt mean God. Muslims believe that Prophets can be more authoritative than others. That doesnt mean thay are lords in the sense that they are God.

Jesus also refered to God in many places.

Its a big problem Ben. I sincerely and not because i am a muslim or someone on a catholic forum but sincerely see many many outright contradictions betweeen Christian text and itself, between Christian text and Judaism and ofcourse Islam.

If i were to play it safe, i would not worship Jesus. God doesnt confuse people and he would not put the salvation of people on the balance by him beating around the bush.

If you read in the Old testament and the Quran you would find absoloutist statements by God refering to hiself as God unequivoally. The same in Islam.

This is not the case in Christian texts.

BTW , just so you know, i believe that Jesus is sent by God and one of the mightiest prophets to walk on earth. and i believe that he is of the 5 burdened peophets . He has the right to say that he is the lord of David because he was the last messenger to the people of israel.

But God? This s outright dangerous. and the stake here is eternal hell. specially when taken the versesfrom the OT that i have previously posted.

no it doesnt . Because God never lied. There is a big difference between hiding somthing from you and lying to you.

Yes God saved his messenger and he made a test from him, if you see your prophet bieng crucified would you worship him?

It is amazing for me to read in the OT that God have explicitly been warning of prophets who are able to do miracles and virtures of everything and would be able to fortell teh future BUT ask people to worship other than God.!!

Now it is very much the same case here , however the blame is not on Jesus.

Wait, I am confused. Who was on the cross? Who was stabbed with the lance? How, per the Qur’an, did the Crucifixion not involve Jesus

we do not say that God is a man. God coming to us as a human does not change His nature, He is always God. As i told you. you will find not one single verse saying God cannot come to us as a man or any other way He chooses.

Muslims don’t believe that Jesus was crucified. Who was on the cross is not our issue.

Really?

So, someone was on the cross and it was made to look like Jesus was on there and died.

Please explain again how this is not a lie from Allah

This is a bit silly.

You wouldn’t find a single verse that says God can’t be an aircraft carrier either!!! God wouldnt be anything that Doesn’t fit to his nature of bieng God. which he clearly said that he isn’t a man.

Can you believe what you say InJesus?

''God is not a man. He is just God in human form. ‘’

Well let me tell you a revelation , I am not a man, i am a soul in a human form! what

Well , it is wrong the to say Jesus is God because Jesus was clearly a man. or at least the man side of God.

if somebody came to steal my safe and stole an empty safe , would i have lied to them?

prophets, no matter how much authority they had from God, none of them claimed to be the Lord of David, the Lord of the Sabbath, ones who send prophets, ones who give wisdom to humans, ones who give peace the world cannot give, ones who can resurrect themselves, ones who are alpha and omega ecc Remember, he was adressing Jews with Jewish mentality.

you are starting from a twisted understanding. Jesus is God before coming as a human.

In other words, if God incarnates in a tree for exampl, are we worshipping a tree of God in the tree? same concept. We worship God, not a human.

That’s always confused me, too. How there were eyewitness accounts written of the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Again, from John, Chapter 20:19-31

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. 13 The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

21 (Jesus) said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.

23 Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."

24 Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.

25 So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

26 Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”

27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.”

28 Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of (his) disciples that are not written in this book.

31 But these are written that you may (come to) believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

He did not beat round the bush, but He wouldn’t have said it in the way you expected for different reasons. Just imagine a man telling you i am God, will you take him seriously? no. One, He knows how humans would react because He knows how they think, second things are revealed step by step so that humans understand that is why he kept things unrevealed until later times. Third, He revealed He is the Son/Logos, not the Father.
