Everyone has a religious preference. The law gives no special consideration to Catholics over any other religion. The protections currently in place for transgendered are more than for other groups. There are no lies here. Name calling does not improve an arguement.
I suggest you get back to posting in economic threads, you have proven byond the shadow of any kind doubt that you have no clue of what you are talking about here. Proof there is no protection for gender expression, and Catholicism is proected, its called no discrimination based on creed or religion. In knowledge you are out matched here.

I said personal, not intimate.
Personal relationsips= all non business relationships. Intimate relationships= marriage, family, boyfriend/girlfriend relationships. bussiness relationships=professional. That should clear the air.

If you are not personable in the work place you will not have business relationships that last that long.

personable doesn’t equate to personal.

If you can’t be friends with your co workers you will not advance in your career. If other people do not like you you will not advance in your career. If you are not liked you will be more likely to get laid off when the budget cuts come. That is the way things work, learn to deal with it. It applies to all people regardless of sexual orientation, birth defect, race, religion, choice of hobies, personality, work ethic, etc. If you are not willing to be likable you have to be an above average worker to succeed. So all of these people would have a legitimate claim that their personal attributes are holding them back in the work place. No single group should be given special advantages.

By the same token no one should be allowed to have their condition equate to special disadvantages either. And thats what the discussion is about here.

So you’re against the Civil Rights Act in its entirety? And the ADA? And the literally tens of thousands of state, county and city ordnances that give even more extensive protections? That would at least be consistent. There is a case for that, without hypocrisy or treating people unequally.

It would have bad effects, or at least, the same things that caused these acts to be passed in the first place would make a comeback. “No Irish Need Apply” and religious exclusionary laws. Jim Crow of course. The return of “Ugly Laws”, that prohibit the disfigured from appearing in daylight hours.

I hope that wasnt ment for me. I know what its like to be singled out and put at a special disadvatage to others since early childhood. While I’m not asking for special rights , I want the rights everyone else gets. Iv’e been discriminated agaimst on the job because I wasnt Jehovahs Witness, because I wasn’t Christian Reformed Dutch, because I’m transsgender, and way way back because I talk a little slow. Or one of my longtime friends discriminated against because of his mild case of autism. And people wonder why I am just a little “antisocial” once in a while.

And I have been denied opportunities because I was not friends with the in crowd. But sometimes you just have to suck it up. There is a difference between getting special perks or specific opportunities and institutional discrimination. Trans sexuals are not being denied voting rights, they are not being rounded up, they are not being denied access to fire arms (more than anyone else) their rights are not being institutionally violated with out reprocussions. What is happening is in their daily individual one on one dealings they occasionally run into people who treat them differently. I have run into people who treat me differently because of many factors that are not protected by law.

Every person on this plannet faces some adversity because of the perceptions of others. That adversity is not universal, you simply ignore those people and move on to a better environment and deal with it.

Yes there is individual discrimination, but there are groups that gets targeted by large amounts of people for discrimination like in the past the Irish( which I am Irish), Catholics, and so on. Thats why you have laws that protect against discromination based of sex, creed, etc etc. Does it work in every case? NO. But it proects groups from discrimination agaimst them rising to the level of being institutionalised. Every example you use of whats not happening to transsexuals is a governemnt function, you just proved with those example that governement is less discriminatory than business. Sounds like governement should be trusted more than business based on that example to me.😛

Only if you want to eliminate freedom of choice.

Choice of what? The laziezfaire type capitalism you want leads to the only choice of brownosing for a job dieing from starving and homelesness.
As far as I am concerned, you have every right to discriminate against people with that opinion if you want. Would the same be true in your utopic state?

In utopic state people wouldn’t be objectified ,people would be allowed to be themselves(unless it harms others, and business would be seen as a tool for making a living rather than what life is all about for anyone involved, everyone would leave home at home and work at work. Ozzie Nelson never brought work home.

Rounded up? No

Denied voting rights? Yes, often. Anywhere which has strict ID laws to ensure there’s no voting fraud - but which also simultaneously denies them the ability to get consistent documentation.

And as for firearms - it’s not a good idea in general to allow people diagnosed with severe mental illnesses to have access to guns. This has been used to deny trans people, and even some intersexed people, the same rights as others. Because if they don’t accept the gender they were arbitrarily surgically assigned by others shortly after birth, they have to be “mentally ill” according to the current DSM. One of the reasons why so many Trans and Intersexed people end up murder victims is because it’s illegal for them to possess weapons that their murderers have.

It’s actually illegal to employ people who get an “ID mismatch” from federal authorities, due to their federal ID saying one sex, and their state ID saying another. Due to current state laws, it’s quite permissible for states to cause this for some trans people. You can change your state of residence (if you have the money to move out), but not the state you were born in, and that’s what counts.

Those are other battles we’re in. But it’s difficult to fight such battles when you’re starving because you can’t get a job.

You really are clueless on this. I’m sure that if there were laws prohibiting the employment of Catholics in certain states, that Catholicism was deemed a mental illness (with all the legal restrictions regarding adoption, custody etc that entails), and that due to prejudice, 40% of Catholics were unemployed, and 60% below the poverty line, you’d be singing a quite different tune.

Even if they weren’t actually being “rounded up”.

Glad to see you are for gun rights. I agree that sexual desire in conflict with biological sex should not be a criteria for preventing gun ownership. How do you feel about the people banning the guns on that basis now having increased access to private medical records?

By the way you can not discuss Catholicism or other religion in the work place because some consider it a hostile environment for those who are not of that religion.

Also, if someone dresses appropriately for their physical appearance, there is little reason an employer will suspect anything.

.
In my case the sirname Pawloski gives away that Im Catholic. Not many Protestant poles out there.

as has been shown by moderators of CAF this site is also now adhering to the message of the pope and to what the american bishops have recently said and are banning IS and TS people and silencing those nasty vermin, as is implied by mr ratzinger, and blatantly descriminating against us as the bishops have clearly said is ok to do.

moderators have some charity and return Zoe Brain ,Aspowolski and Highflyer 64 to the forum. not to do so clearly shows you have no charity and completely miss the meaning of love thy neighbour.

no doubt you will remove this post , mabye this thread as you have others on this important issue lately and mabye even ban me too which will only go to prove that we TS/IS peopple must be silenced and not be given the rights as others have.

:mad::mad::mad:

Which other thread?
hmm… I’m not sure. :o

It was a few months ago, and I post too often here. I’m sure many CAF members would agree.

But I am not sure that the earlier discussion matters all that much I think Zoe and I discussed the issues more thoroughly in this thread.
