You were disagreeing with Church teaching. I was merely pointing out that you were doing so. No need to be defensive while one is being corrected.

I never saw anybody in this thread disagreeing with Church teaching. What I saw was someone trying to get more information, and asking questions for clarification and further understanding.

I think what people need to do is, take the attitude of a teacher in a classroom, rather than an Inquisitor at the Spanish Inquisition. If a child asked you about the Perpetual Virginity of Mary, you’d explain it calmly and rationally, without accusing the child of heresy, disobedience, etc. I think everyone has the right to expect the same kind of treatment, regardless of their age.

…though, the Inquisitors were not that bad if people were honest in their responses to them, and not intent on “pulling one over” on them.
