In Catholicism there are no “what if” because we hold true to our faith. The idea of being wrong is not part of the Catholic Church. The church was founded on truth by Christ and that is what we believe. If you accept this; you accept it. If you don’t; you don’t. That’s all there is to it.What if Catholicism is the wrong religion? What if you will not be in heaven because you do not believe in Shiva? Or what if you go to hell because you don’t pray towards mecca? Because your belief that the Catholic Church promotes the right ethical system is not held by most of the world…and frankly, it doesn’t seem more valid than a lot of other ethical systems around the world either.
If a religion existed, but acknowledged that they might be wrong, that doesn’t say much for the solidity of that faith.
