Honestly I view talk of “discerning a vocation” while in a relationship with someone as being comparable to talking about potentially dating another person.

Seminaries don’t allow seminarians to date when they are in the seminary as a means of focusing their minds on one thing. Personally I think that dating should really be treated the same. In fact in dating the responsibility of a focused discernment is potentially greater since another person’s feelings, time and resources are involved as well.
