Prayers and Intercessions

Jesus brings peace to weary souls. Brethren, let us bring our prayers before him:
  • Most loving King, take pity on us.
Jesus, holy temple of God, thrown down by men and raised up again by the Father,
make the Church a tabernacle of the Most High.
Jesus, you love us with an everlasting love and in your mercy you draw us to yourself:
renew your covenant with each one of us.
Jesus, you are peace and reconciliation. You renew mankind in unity and bring all men together in peace; by your cross you destroy all enmity:
open for us the path to God.
Jesus, our life and our resurrection, you lighten burdens and give rest to the soul:
draw sinners to yourself.
Jesus, your overflowing love made you obedient even to death on a cross:
to all who sleep in your peace bring resurrection.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Almighty God, we glory in the loving heart of your beloved Son.
As we recall the great things his love has done for us,
may we become worthy to receive overflowing grace
from his heart, the source of heaven’s gifts.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.

Eternal Father, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

Amen

Bruce is in much better spirits. He has to go and get a PIC line tomorrow for some IV Lipids. He will also be getting a feeding tube as his weight has dropped below 100 lbs. Then on Thursday, he will have several test done so that a treatment and /or surgical plan can be created and implimented.

I had a serious talk with him and I told him to give me an answer…Are you going to fight this or, are you ready to give up? I’ll stand beside you either way. He said he was going to fight…So, please continue to pray for him.

God Bless you all!
Pam

Pam, I’ll continue to pray for him. He’s blessed to have you.

Lord Jesus,
Lover of the sick,
Be with Bruce in his sickness.
Help him to accept this illness
As a sharer in your cross,
And bring him back to full health.

Lord Jesus,
We praise You,
For You are Lord for ever and ever.

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake,
or watch, or weep tonight,
and give Your Angels and Saints charge over those who sleep.
Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest Your weary ones,
Bless Your dying ones,
Soothe Your suffering ones,
pity Your afflicted ones,
Shield Your joyous ones,
And all for Your love’s sake.

Amen.

Praise God!

Father of Eternal Mercy, grant Heavenly strength to Bruce in his fight to cherish and protect the Divine Gift of Life which You alone gave to him. You have blessed him with Pam, who prays for him and will suffer along with him. Hear also our prayers, and in Your Mercy, join them to the prayers of the Angels and Saints who desire Bruce to reach Sainthood in the fulness of time. Appeal to him, O Lord, in the darkness of his nights, speaking to him in whispers that he cannot ignore. Call to him out of the immeasurable love which You have eternally had for him. Reassure him by sending loving, faithful medical staff to surround him. Let him receive encouragement from those who suffer more greatly than he. Reveal to him that he is called to inspire those who have lost hope and do not wish to fight for their lives. Grant Bruce the knowledge that his suffering is redemptive and is not wasted. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!

Praying every day for Bruce. I know how difficult it is when a loved one has cancer and their emotional states take such swings. May God grace Bruce with a Miracle and keep the Holy Spirit around him at all times…If Bruce picks up the bottle, may God overwhelm him with guilt and the knowledge that it will hurt him and nothelp him. May God bring you comfort too. It is so hard when your loved one is so far away. Joe is in Philly now and I am on panic mode as I am sure you are. I will keep praying for Bruce (and for your).

Bruce passed away on January 29th. He suffered with colon cancer, throat & oral cancer, and one week before he died he was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Bruce made a good confession two weeks before he died and received communion for the first time in almost 18 years on the day he died.

He has left behind a 17 year old son. Please pray for his soul and for all of us in his family.

Thank You,
Pam

May Bruce’s soul find rest in the arms of Our Lord :signofcross: Holding you and all his family in my prayers.

Pam, so good to hear from you! This was not the news which we wanted to hear, but Bruce’s return to faith is an eternal blessing. May the faith of Bruce’s youth, and of his last days on earth be passed on to his son.

Father in heaven, You have called the precious soul of Bruce home to you, mercifully waiting until he was restored to a state of grace. Lord, by Your workings we are assured of the trustworthiness of Your promises. We ask that you grant Bruce an eternity of blessed peace and joy in Your presence. Graciously provide for the loving care of his son, by surrounding him with those who reflect Your love to him. We beseech You to cradle in Your hands all who mourn, comforting them with the eternal promises of Your mercy. Grant this, O loving Father, through our risen Lord Jesus Christ, Your only Son, Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!
