**Hi everyone,
**
I was just reading the âDifferent Biblesâ thread, which reminded me of something in my Catholic Bible which has perplexed me no end.
In the final paragraph of Paulâs epistle to the Galatians it reads-: 'Then he develops the argument that it is by faith alone that people are put right with God.'
DisclaimerâŚI have no issue with Faith Alone, in the context that without faith our works are dead, but with faith, works will naturally follow, not that works save, but show how commited to Christ we are.
**For instance as a Christian I could not sit by and watch someone suffering / in need, if I was able to help in some way, but that doesnât save me, it just shows God how commited I am to Him. **
I donât want this to turn into a Faith Alone vs Faith and Works debate, please; I am just interested in any explanation anyone may have for the above text, in my Catholic Bible.
It is a Todayâs English Version - second edition c.1992
Australian Usage Text - Revised Edition 1994
Thanks for any insight you may have.
Peace and love
