My cousin developed prostate problems from stopping masturbating

My cousin and I are both Christians, we do not cuss, do our best to not even tell a little white lie, and we both tried to give up masturbating because that is the only the we struggle with.

From research, I’ve concluded watching porn is a sin, but I’m unclear on masturbation, although the bible says not to “spill your seed”, which could mean not to masturbate. But how does one become “excited” without pornography or the slightest, impure thought.

My cousin, went almost three months without masturbation, and developed severe prostate problems. His doctor told him he needed to masturbate more often.

My cousin prayed and prayed for God to keep his prostate in good health, but it got worse. He thought he might be able to “relieve” himself in his dreams, but that didn’t work either. Sure enough, he broke down and did what he had to and it did solve the problem.

I just don’t understand how something can be a sin, if it’s going to deteriorate your health, and even possibly kill you. Not treating a problem that is treatable is practically suicide, and that is one of the worst sins you can do.

The doctor does not know what he is talking about. There are usually other things, including medications, that can be done to improve a man’s prostate health.

And to put it bluntly health is not a justification for sin. A mother, if she and her child are both starving, would certainly be in better health were she to eat all the available food and let the child starve to death than were she to attempt to give some of that food to the child. But that fact does not justify her withholding food from the child.

That doctor is an absolute moran, a quack. Do you think that God, who gave us the Commandments, would punish us for obeying them??? That thought is pure blaphamy. God does not lie or deceive. That Doctor has fallen for typical liberal propaganda.

You only struggle with one thing. Praise the Lord. Do you know how many people in the world struggle with many things?

How old is your cousin?

Is your cousin married?

What is the name of the disorder your cousin was told that he had as it regards his Prostate?
 
I think that your cousin should have a check-up done by a doctor who has a background in urology.
 
There has to be some other treatment.

If lack of masturbation caused prostate issues, then the Catholic clergy should have been dropping like flies. For millenia.

The doctor is quite right. I know a man who lost one of his testicles from not masturbating and having no wife. He became sterile. The stricture against masturbation is a medieval holdover and needs to be changed.

No, it doesn’t. Sex is meant to be between a husband and wife. Solution: Get married and have all the unitive, productive sex you want.
 
On the social anxiety forum are many who did not musturbate for moths and none of them said that they got prostate problems. Additionally, some people need a certain highly addictive medicament to life, does this mean this medicament should be legal for everyone.
 
This does not make sense…i struggle with it and also at times the CC teaching on masturbation, but this this is the first i have heard of this.

I went for years without doing it, then suddenly started, stopped again for some time and still struggling to remain pure.

I do not have any such prostrate problems(By God’s grace). As some others have pointed out, i am suspicious of the intentions of the OP.

Your friend needs to find a new doctor and quick. It seems like he/she doesn’t know what he/she is talking about and your cousin’s physical and spiritual health is in danger. He seems to have a serious medical issue that masturbation cannot solve. I have never heard of a medical condition where masturbation is the primary or the best way of treating it. It is likely that your friends problem will get worse eventually even with masturbation. He needs medication.

Take it easy 😛 He seems genuinely interested in an answer and advice. Wouldn’t it have been better if you put some effort into explaining to him why masturbation is wrong instead of questioning his motives in a hostile manner?

Julia,

You, not a physician, a paleo-anthropologist should contact this physician and get all the information you can. You can then get this case published as a case report. I find no literature concerning therapeutic masturbation other than that to relieve sexual tension. Let me know when you find any literature to substantiate this claim and when you get published.
