My cousin developed prostate problems from stopping masturbating

I keep trying to find answers that it can be acceptable.

It’s common sense you shouldn’t kill, over indulge in food, rape, or anything like that.

But when it’s something that is a lack of doing that affects out health is considered a sin, makes me wonder and confused.

That’s why I’m wondering, should we take what Christ says literally about adultery? Because adultery ties in with masturbation. One cannot become “aroused” without the slightest impure thought.

There’s other things he says that we do not take literally. Like cutting off our hands out plucking our eyes out if they cause us to sin. And wearing clothes with mixed fabrics, we do not take that literally.

I’m just think maybe what Christ meant was for a married man not to look at another woman in lust, and to not let those thoughts get out of control, like leading to rape and stuff.

Here’s one thing. What do you do while you are masturbating? Do you look at porn? Do you fantasize? What do you think those mental activities will do to your sex life with real women? Nothing? WRONG. You fill your mind with fantasies, you will replay those fantasies when you have actual sexual intercourse with your future wife. You use porn, you want to use porn more. Those images are implanted in your mind FOREVER. The hard drive can’t be wiped. You can fight it but it’s probably one of the most difficult things to change you can imagine.

Let’s drop the health benefit aspect, which is sheer fiction. There are concrete detrimental results of masturbation.

I’ve got no reason to think we’re talking about a situation where a man never masturbated in his whole life, then started to masturbate at age 50 for the good of his prostate 🤷

So what changes, considering this man is more than likely to have masturbated, and be masturbating, prior to age 50? 🤷

Heterosexual men have always fantasized about women, and always will, whether they masturbate or not, so I’m not sure what point you’re making 🤷

My cousin prayed and prayed for God to keep his prostate in good health, but it got worse. He thought he might be able to “relieve” himself in his dreams, but that didn’t work either. Sure enough, he broke down and did what he had to and it did solve the problem.

I just don’t understand how something can be a sin, if it’s going to deteriorate your health, and even possibly kill you. Not treating a problem that is treatable is practically suicide, and that is one of the worst sins you can do.

Prostate Problems for not masturbating in three months?
Ive gone way longer and as far as I know I haven’t had any problems

I agree. I really do.

I mean I don’t necessarily look at porn. More of swim suit type stuff. I feel if they are willing to take pictures like that, then is that violating their dignity if they are willing to put themselves out there like that?

Intercourse porn is a different story. I really think a lot of those girls end up doing things against their will. And I can see how it can desensitize one and them expecting their partner to perform like the women in porn.

You know when I was a teen many a boy tried to convince me that “blue balls” was a real problem. I laughed then and I am laughing now, that guys are still using that line.

It’s true though, if the problem persists, it can become cancerous. For example, people with acid reflux, if not treated, can develop esophagus and stomach cancer. I know this because I’ve had severe acid reflux since I was 10.

Yes, it is violating their dignity. You won’t object if your future daughter poses for porn (even soft-core) and guys masturbate to her image?

You didn’t even comment on the fantasy aspect. You’re fantasizing and the stories you make up in your head mean that you will never again be WITH the woman you are with, 100%. The fantasies that you used will pop up over and over, because you climaxed to those before you ever met your wife intimately. You can pleasure yourself more efficiently than anyone else can ever please you, it’s entirely self-directed.

Fight your impulses to justify this practice, my friend. It can only hurt you.

How do you feel becomes the question based on a moral ethical perspective in reflection? As far as teaching I have found that people in general share the same fears, tears, and face death in so many years. Rarely do we disagree on what is evil, we disagree on what evil we shall excuse.

I fail to see the moral aspect in masterbation in regards to ones state of mental health. How does one feel about a “habit” be it porn and masterbation? Oh wait, wait rationalize it away as… its good for my health? :confused:

Pornography adds an entirely concrete, visual fantasy to the equation and encumbers a man’s view and ability to recognize the compatibility and value of a woman other than for her sexual faculties. It also corrodes his ability to find women attractive unless they meet the imagery of the “satisfying” fantasy in which he indulges. It is essentially a false poison of sorts for the mind. And then the women will slowly turn to objectifying themselves to keep up with the demanded level of “attraction” that the porn-addicted men are looking for. And that starts a whole slippery slope of problems like teen pregnancy, anorexia, suicides, etc… To boot, married couples often find terrible problems in their marriages when one party continues to flee to porn as they did when they were single (or even worse, if they started after they were married). Besides psychological damage, it is damaging on an number of fronts. Well from the last few posts I’ve read, I’ve concluded it is a sin. My eyes are more open to the dangers. It makes sense how it can affect a relationship with women. It’s a very difficult thing to overcome, but I will try my very best to stop, but I’m still afraid it will affect my prostate. :confused:

Well, what are the odds that you will die of prostate cancer because you didn’t masturbate? I think, about the same. Come on mate, the jig is up, you’re just trying to get an excuse to keep doing what you want to do.

Maybe I should have said, “You walk out the door and get hit by a bus.”
