Thank you everyone, she’s not going to use the incense she understands and I will try to say the rosary every night.

My advice as a parent who’s daughter is now 45 years old is, don’t push your religion to hard at her. It will merely drive her further into spirituality that is far from yours.

Instead, live as the best Catholics as you can and only answer questions she asks.

Of course pray. In time, the Holy Spirit will call her and she may open herself to Him.

I went through this when my daughter was 15 years old, and was getting into Native American Spirituality. She befriended an actual Lakota man, who taught art at a Native American gift shop. He wisely let her talk and ask questions about Native American Spirituality. She then asked if there was something for her to read to learn more. He gave her a Bible and then revealed he himself was a Christian. Later, he also gave her tapes with classical music. He taught her to be herself and not try to be a Native American as so many white kids of her time were trying to do. In fact he disliked the POW-WOWs that were taking place in the area at the time. Anyway, he turned her around and she ended up going on retreat with my wife and ended up receiving Confirmation and growing as a Catholic Woman.

The rosary is an excellent devotion! It is a good idea to give up a dessert now and then, to add to your prayers. (fasting from dessert.)

And remember this wonderful saying of St. Padre Pio…“Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry.”

I’m sorry my answer is not what you are looking for … but I simply can’t tell you to pray and everything will work out by itself … as that is what I did and nothing worked out … I do hope you have a better result … but the mind control these people use that sell these items and have stores that sell these items is very powerful … this is called “New Age” … look it up … you will find a lot of information about it.

Hi. Your answer was appreciated and I’m very sorry about your sister. My response to you meant to convey that I just don’t know how to get through to her .

New Age is very shiny and exotic and offers the promise of knowing everything, or at least to numb you to your pain.

But it’s also very correlated with anxiety and depression.

I just looked at their website, and wow! I seriously doubt that there is anything dark going on there. It looks more like bubble gum spirituality. Like…my favorite color is lavender and, BTW do you have any of those cute kitten “Hang in there” posters?

I wish you all the best in this situation … and I would pray … but I also would try to talk to her and explain to her that rocks don’t have any spiritual powers … that is what they are selling … that each different stone she buys is for a particular reason.

I will keep you and your daughter in my prayers.

Look at their shop … they sell spell mixes … my sister thinks she can cast spells … she thinks she’s a witch … she started out with buying a rock also.

Upon closer inspection, the services that they provided look like something I wouldn’t touch. The whole thing could be marketing, or it could be something else. Hopefully it’s just wishful thinking on the store owners part, but I don’t know how one would find out. Best to avoid that place.

The spell mixes look like a novelty item, and they are only 4 bucks. But there again, I don’t know anything about that stuff.

I spent years in that cr*p of New age and occult. Nothing was helpful except prayer and love of other people. And not being pushy towards person, that is important.
God hears every prayer and gives grace of conversion when He wants to.
Hope must never be lost!

It’s all based on this “New Age” philosophy … and if you google New Age and Witchcraft you will find a lot of very disturbing information … these New Age people talked my sister into the fact that she had powers special to her because she was a woman … she is now a full blown witch … or she thinks she is … she actually belongs to a coven … and these women get together and cast spells and do all other kinds of nutty stuff … it seems harmless to a degree … but it destroys families as once they get into this in a heavy way they don’t think they need anyone except people who practice what they are practicing.

I’m happy you got out of it … I lost a sister who I at one time was very close to … she only wants to be involved with people who are into what she is into … she has no time for Catholics.

Well it’s up and running very good in the States … my sister has a room where she keeps all her stuff … she spent thousands and thousands on crazy things like an alter and a cauldron and books and herbs and oils and everything you could imagine … haven’t spoken to her in so long … I try but she can’t have anything to do with a Catholic.

I have to tell you a story … my sister had this room done up with all her stuff … she had so much she needed an entire room … and one day her husband went in to look around and the glass he was holding somehow broke and he was bleeding … my sister right away said that it was because of her power and the fact that she had cast a spell for no one to enter the room without her permission … that’s how crazy
she got.

May I please have specific advice regarding my daughter. She’s 18,
This sounds pretty normal. She has to do her own search. Love her, set boundaries and always be the father of the prodigal son. As long as she is not doing drugs or messing with boys you are lucky

Her husband didn’t care about what she did … he is Egyptian and he had his own religion and just thought that she was a stupid woman … he didn’t think much of women.

Why on earth would the OP want to drum up business for them? She included it for us to see what her daughter was interested in. Please read all of the thread. The OP is upset, not shilling for the business.
