My dd who is 33 posted this link on her FB page. I’m more than a little peeved with her right now.
Catholic website says colleges aren’t for women: ‘Learn to be a wife and mother’

I’m ticked off about the article, but I’m really ticked off that my dd seems to be holding the church up to ridicule. We have a pretty good relationship but she abandoned her faith as a teenager. I don’t know what to say to her.

I don’t know how else to respond to this but I felt I had to say something. Personally, I agree with a lot of what this guy said, but I don’t feel the solution is to keep women from higher education. No matter how pure daddy’s little girl is, nothing guarantees she is going to get married to a good guy who’s going to take care of her for the rest of her life. They might split up, he might die, she may not even get married. She’ll be on her own and who’s going to look after her then, her parents?? Should she not be allowed to get the tools to become independent and look after herself? Please understand the difference between personal opinion and Catholic teaching. The media tends not to make a distinction so as to get the most sensationalistic headlines. I hope you’re a little more discerning.
