This is a poem I wrote about 7 years ago, 2 years after knowing the Lord, though I was Protestant then. It’s not a great work of poetry, but nevertheless, it means alot to me and I thought I’d share it.

How sweet is the sound of Your voice oh Lord, that whispers throughout the air, So beautiful are Your works that show oh Lord, I desire none like You

The scent of Your perfume captures me my God, Your Form I cannot behold, Unimaginable love You’ve shown me my God, of this I cannot come to fathime,

How You took me onto the cross with You, to die and to be raised again, How You took on my sins and suffered for me, someone who does not deserve a beauty like You,

Oh, my God, how I love You so, My Saviour, Almighty God, and King,

At times you sadden my heart oh Lord, as I weep with pain and geif, For now I suffer for You oh Jesus, for unsaved, lost, and sin,

Your Light shines onto me my God, and fills my heart with peace, Your Wind blows against me oh Lord, and I feel Your gentle kiss,

From creatures to the sea, from mountains to plains, from flowers to trees, the stars and the rain

So beautiful You are my God, I desire none like You

Your poem is very lovely, thank you for sharing it.

Blessings

You seem to have a very deep awareness of the beauty of all that surrounds you, and as it applies to God—besides being a great seeker of God, you weave words so well into verse.

Oh…wow, thank you blushes

And here I was thinking it wasn’t all that well.

I am also writing a novel, I have been for quite some time. It’s a fantasy called “Guardian of the Seventh Realm.” It’s a paralell to the life of a child of God. Discovering “truth” and walking through hardships to find its completless. Though there is alot of violence in it, being a Second Great War is taking place, where men, elves, dwarves, centaurs, wizards (my own type of “wizard” creatures, not typical fantasy wizards) and my own race called Nasharins, battling against Orcs, Draconians, sorcerers and soreress’, Minotaurs, and a demon lord named Abaddon, lol.

I guess I’m too parinoid, or too much of a perfectionist, not that my things are perfect, ha, yeah right! Far from that. But I have obessivness with many issues. So I just got to sit back and relax, telling myself it’s fine, it’s ok.

I’m probaly not making sense. Heh. Anyway thank you Lisa, and all of you.

P.S. If anyone would like to read my novel, probaly in the winter when I am done, I would let you. It would be nice to hear what my brothers and sisters in Christ would think. 🙂

Your poem is very beautiful and moving!

When you get that novel finished and published, dont forget to let us know and all the details so we can read it.
I’ve always felt there is a novel in me…it’s getting rather late I think at 62…

Beautiful.🙂

Keep writing, keep creating, keep posting them up to inspire and edify us.

In the Living Prayer of my life

It’s lovely and inspiring. 🙂 It reminds me of St. Francis’ poetry and some of the works of the saints. Keep it up!

To one God gives one gift to another, another. Then He askes what we have done with whatHe gave us. It is always a pleasure to see God’s littleones enjoying the gifts so aptly.
Keep going God bless you, you are in my prayers.

St. francis of Assisi??? Really???He is my FAVORITE saint! I have a wonderful biogrophy about him, though I can’t remember any poetry in it.

I’m going to try and self publish. First of all I DO NOT care about riches. I just want to support my family, and help others. Therefore I don’t want to be tempted with millions of dollars (would never happen anyway). Also, I don’t like agents or publishing companies that much. I have my reasons. So I’m going to self publish it (after I find an editor of course, though they’re expensive) through Morrison Publishing.

Thoug hI hope it’s not too dark, because of the violence and all. Which is why I’d love for another catholic to read it. My influences are J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Madeline Howard, Susan Cooper.

Thank you all for your complements 🙂

I wish you all the very best and success with your novel. Plenty of dark novels had something to say worth hearing…

“Lord, please grant success to the work of our hands” (DO Psalm)

Blessings, Success with Peaceful Joy…Barb:)

Yes St Francis of Assisi. Read “Canticle of the Sun”. You will see some similarities. 🙂
