So, my dad saw the eye doctor yesterday and he concluded that what he tried wasn’t working. My dad is now scheduled to receive surgery on Tuesday 8/25. Pray for a successful operation and a speedy recovery so that he does not lose his job.

Praying all goes well with your dad’s surgery today and that he has a speedy recovery.

Loving Father, we entrust @redbetta’s father to your care this day; guide with wisdom and skill the minds and hands of the medical people who minister in your Name, and grant that every cause of illness be removed, that he may be restored to sound like to dness of health and learn to live in more perfect harmony with you and with those around me.

Through Jesus Christ.

Amen.✝️

Lord, we lift him up in prayer today.
Lord, our God, You sent Your Son into the world to bear our infirmities and to endure our sufferings.

For Your servants who are sick, we ask that Your blessing will give them strength to overcome their weakness through the power of patience and the comfort of hope and that with Your aid they will soon be restored to health.

I thank You in advance for answering our prayers. We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

@redbetta praying your father’s surgery was successful today and he has a speedy recovery.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen.

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give Your angels and saints charge over those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest Your weary ones. Bless Your dying ones. Soothe Your suffering ones. Pity Your afflicted ones. Shield Your joyous ones, and all for Your love’s sake.

Amen.

He got the surgery. He went to the ER two hours later because apparently the anesthesia can make one’s bladder stop working, but, he’s been at home this past week and seems alright. It’s supposed to take 8 weeks to heal completely. He has just been very bored because the doctors discourage him from even taking walks.

Also, when they took his blood sugar, he was pretty close to being diabetic, which he never had before. I’m thinking all these weeks of no exercise might make him diabetic if he’s not super careful. His sister is diabetic, so he has the genetic predisposition.

That must have been stressful and scary- wow. I’m glad he’s doing better and will continue to keep him in my prayers.

Yeah, it’s been hard on me and mom too. I got behind on classes and, since I’m in school, mom has to take him in for all his appointments, which means she can’t really go looking for work. Her hours were cut and now she’s making half of what she used to.

Things just took another downwards turn. Today, we had to take my dad to the urologist first thing in the morning because he couldn’t pee again. I hope this does not become a regular thing now.

UPDATE: my father retired to bed early last night and got up late today. He spent most of the day sleeping. Mom and I are getting increasingly worried, especially since, these last few days, we got calls that two of my dad’s friends just died. This year, 6 of my dad’s closest friends, all around his age, have died and I’m getting increasingly worried that this may be the year that I may have to say goodbye to Dad.

All I want at this point is for Dad to live long enough for me to graduate pharmacy school and finally become financially self-sufficient so that he can die knowing that his work was done and that I will be okay.
