Even more good news!

If I had written the book of Ecclesiastes: “There is a time for calm words of congratulation, and there is a time to shout YEEEE-HAAAAAHHHH!”
This is without doubt a time for the latter.

Thanks for your blessings, CarmeliteGirl!

Thanks to all who responded! 😃 I am going up to the Carmelite Girls’ Home in May and coming back home in June! My future Superior (God-willing) has been so helpful to me. What did I ever do to deserve her?? 😊 She is amazing! Jesus has been the most helpful! I can’t believe I ever thought that He wasn’t personal. I did not believe that He could do amazing things, just that He was God. I think I was a Deist intellectually. I believed in God but didn’t think He could be personal. All that has changed! I love Jesus so very much!

Please pray for me! I have to get some paperwork up to Sister, but it should not be a problem. I pray that the outcome will be God’s will for me. I look at it as a great opportunity, no matter if I am accepted to the order or not. I have been wanting to pay off those debts for a LOOOOONNNNGGG time, and I can’t turn down this opportunity to pay them in a matter of a few weeks. 😃

It all sounds exciting but I am not sure what a “live-in” means. Does it mean that you would do housekeeping work to pay for your room and board at the convent? Does it also mean that you would have time to go away from the convent every day to earn the “big bucks” for your debt?

No, I would be living in the convent and the apostolate is connected to it. It would be a little odd, but I’ve heard of other candidates that have done the same. I would not be paying for my room and board but I believe I am going to be expected to help out the Sisters like washing dishes and stuff. Even if they don’t ask me, I am going to help out. My main job will be working with the children at the Girls’ Home and Holy Innocents Center.

I doubt if I will be able to go out of the convent on my own since I will be taking a plane up there and I won’t have free access to a car. But, I am going to surrender this since I couldn’t do those things anyway if I was a Sister, so it would just bring me closer to living the life. 🙂

Hi Carmelite Girl.

I haven’t been on the forums for a wee while and just wanted to add my congratulations! Great news! I will be praying for you. 🙂

I am so happy for you - how wonderful!!!

“May the divine Child Jesus find in your soul a dwelling all fragrant with the roses of love; may He find the burning lamp of fraternal charity to warm His frozen limbs and rejoice His small heart, making Him forget the ingratitude of souls which do not love him enough.”

👍 Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I get great joy out of reading St Therese’s letters 🙂
Whenever I feel my love for God etc. running dry, the first thing I do is pray, then second, above many other things I could do, I go to my copy of The Story of A Soul. I did that a few minutes ago and like all the other times, St. Thérèse has led me back to Christ.

She was the one who led me to Him in the first place- I developed a love for her way before I found Him. Because I was close to her, I couldn’t get very far from Him!😛

being french et al, I love St Bernadette. She was so self-effacing. And so holy. Her remains remain so angelic throughout all of this time. I hope to go to Lourdes one day and pay Our Lady homage but also St Bernadette. I also love St Therese, but St Bernadette is my favourite…🤷

I have a great attachment to St Bernadette, I have always called St Bernadette and St Therese my ‘twin towers’. For me they are always there and I class them as part of my family.
