I will admit, I do not like articles or text that villifie and attack the church. However, burning writtings of others just because they are heretical and in disagreement is beyond the bounds of rightous indignation.
Yes, these things anger me. However, if I persecute or destroy all dissenting materials that others own or value…basically I am saying that the only way that one would believe my faith is if all other detractors cease to exist.
Jesus, as a command, asks us to give deffense for our happiness. To act as a contridiction to society. To destroy those things that stand against us in the way you are advocating is what society does. As a Christian, I must bare the burden of these lies, and stand in dispute to them.
Now, I don’t mean that I want you to allow persecution. But a verbal or written argument is MUCH more effective than burning a book that disagrees with the truth of the faith. It will strengthen your faith and assist you in helping others come to the Church by pointing out how vile this author is to its teachings.
Also, by burning books you are feeding into protestant opposition to the faith. They say we want to destroy an competition to Christ. Although it is true that we do want to break away all the heresies that distract from the truth; we must do it in faith and argument. Paul is an excellent example (he even used the teachings of the platonics against the pagans to show the truth of the faith).
Just my thoughts. Peace in Christ be with you. And Viva Bennedict XVI!!!

My options were to, keep it, let it fall into someone else’s hands, or destroy it. I’ll not regret my decision.
