My grandma has cancer, the doctors said it is curable but she goes Saturday to see if it has spread and I am extremely worried about her repenting. I don’t think she has been to confession since she was in high school. Please Pray for our family. Also any advice?

She will be in my prayers. Lymphoma is a “liquid” cancer, so it travels wherever it will in the body. It can appear anywhere, from the organs, to the brain, eyes, even the skin. Do not be surprised to hear that she is stage 3 or 4, as lymphoma is often caught at late stage. As well, lymphoma is staged differently from all other cancers, and stage 4 is not a death sentence - or I would not be posting this! Her type and sub-type of lymphoma is more important than the stage actually, as lymphoma is treatable at all stages.

Here is an online forum for cancer patients and caregivers/family members. You can get support there: www.cancerforums.net

Praying to St. Peregrine for your grandmother’s health & recovery.

Prayers here as well. I’ll also second po18guy. I had/have lymphoma, it is quite treatable, although also quite the ride to do so.
