I know this isn’t as serious as most of the requests on here, but please pray for my mom who is converting to the Catholic faith, and who has always leaned towards agnosticism. I have fallen short in prayer. I know I’ve asked this before, and am sorry for bugging everyone about it. Thank you so much in advance and God Bless!

I’m not sure why you or anyone else would think this is less important than others issues on here. In God’s eyes, there is absolutely nothing more important than the salvation of souls. Bodily and mental illnesses are temporary; damnation is eternal, just as medical cures are temporary but salvation is everlasting. As a former atheist, I can deeply sympathize with your mother’s qualms. Uncertainty, especially based in our limitation and fallibility as finite beings, is a very real issue. The only way to overcome this is to realize that faith is not based in our mental certitude, but in the fact that God Himself reached out to us and bridged the gap that we as human beings could never cross. Our faith may have doubts, but God’s faith in us is doubtless, and His promises are perfect.

I sincerely pray that your mother’s conversion may persist despite her doubts and dilemmas, guided by the grace of Christ who illuminates her to the objective truth of His love and being. I also pray that she may be protected from all evils, particularly the snares of the Devil and her own internal weaknesses which may distract her from Christ. I pray for all those in the world who have no faith or whose faith is being challenged. And finally, I pray that you may constantly be an example and help to her in her journey to Christ.I ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, your mother’s guardian angel, and St. Michael the Archangel. God bless. 🙂

St. Michael the Archangel
Defend us in battle
Be our protection against
The wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray
And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
Through the power of God,
Thrust into Hell, Satan and all the evil Spirits
Who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

:signofcross: Heavenly Father, protect and bless Ben’s mother as she becomes a Catholic; give her wisdom, discernment and strength; keep her safe from Satan’s interference; surround her with Your Holy Spirit and pour out grace, mercy, compassion, joy and peace upon her!!!

(My quick comment - this is still a very serious request. As a convert of 17 years, I know the enemy will want to stop her from becoming a Catholic and to tell her she is doing the wrong thing (or … he did try to stop me from converting). We will continue to pray for her through the RCIA process and into our beautiful Catholic faith!!!)

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.
