My sister just told me her daughter is going to get an abortion. I just found out and I need to get resources. Someone that myself or my sister can talk to. I feel that time is running out. Her boyfriend is for the abortion so there is not help there and she also has some personality disorders. She is 18 years old. Any advice would really help.

Abortion is a big deal for those who are suffering from post-abortion syndrome. Grief is a natural response for an aborted baby. Silence about abortion hurts, not helps, the healing process. Compassionate post-abortion counselors are desperately needed. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if someone could be spared that terrible journey of grief?
 
Get in touch with the Sisters of Life: sistersoflife.org/ They are great and can help with prayers and resources. Pray a lot. Have you tried to talk to your niece?

Yes. The most vital thing is to make her understand she is supported. The apologetics should be directed to whoever is pressuring her to have the abortion.

Let’s all pray that this baby’s life is saved and that the mother is comforted.

Please PM me your location and I will find the pro-life groups and crisis pregnancy centers in your area. It could take me a few minutes to locate. Tell your niece that having an abortion will feel like it solved the “problem” for everyone but her, and that she deserves more than this.
 
Have her look at this with you - especially video testimony!

Tell her about the enormous regret, pain, suffering that women endure for decades after an abortion, often making their lives into a living hell.

And offer to help her get the baby to term, and then give it up for adoption. Many places allow you to simply drop the baby off at a police station and walk away, since there have been newborn baby killings recently from mothers who bore them and did not want them.
There are tons of couples looking for a baby to adopt.

Prayer For Mothers Contemplating Abortion

Lord, so many women face pressures to abort. They
think abortion is their only choice, or are deceived by others to
think that it is their best choice. Help all women to
acknowledge the truth in their hearts that abortion is wrong. We
particularly pray for those women who may be inside this clinic
this morning, or who may drive by or call the clinic today. We
pray for the women and girls in this area, our neighbors, who are
right now feeling pressure to abort. Help them to find the truth,
the support, the courage and the grace they need to resist the
temptation and pressures to choose abortion. Help their friends
and family to be generous in offering their encouragement and
help. Help them to connect to the pregnancy center or the
Gabriel project, or other sources of support. Give them peace
and confidence that their choice for life will truly be the best
choice for themselves as well as for their child. Help them to
feel your presence with them, Lord, and feel secure in your arms,
knowing that you will be with them through whatever difficulties
the pregnancy presents for them. Help the challenges that they
face during the pregnancy serve to bring them closer to you.
Help them to discern your will as they plan for the future of their
child. Help them to understand adoption as a loving way to
provide their child with a loving and stable home. Lord, we
place these women in your hands and ask your mercy on them.
We pray also for those who are not yet pregnant but are
risking an unwanted pregnancy by the choices they have made.
Help them to come to know your beautiful plan for sexuality;
help them to change their lives and know true love and peace in
your friendship, by following your will for their lives.

These are incredibly powerful! I saw some speakers in person like this at the March for Life, and even the pro-abortion protesters skulked away in silence, since the personal testimonies were so powerful!!

Pray with her. If you would PM me I will forward your contact info on to a friend who is a sidewalk counselor for women entering abortion clinics and a director of our 40 days for Life. I will call them right away and have them contact asap you if you wish. She has seen women suffer terrible trauma thinking abortion was the answer. Abortion leaves a terrible scar, breaking a woman’s heart and soul for a lifetime. It will seem like a quick fix, but she will regret this decision for the rest of her life - as over 90 percent of the women do.

I don’t know what area you are in but there are many many organizations that are there to help. Hope Resource Center, White Rose, Life Talk, are just some that I know of and there is probably a Catholic Pro-life group in your area

Not trying to be rude or dispute - just wanting to know where you got the information about the 90% regreting their abortion - is it 90% of Catholics or 90% of Americans or 90% of women and what is the source?
