I just found out that this planned parenthood only does abortions on Monday. So I’m going down there to join the prayer vigil. Please pray she changes her mind.
This is terrible… Praying for your niece, for her boyfriend, for their tiny baby and for you as well. My younger sister had an abortion many years ago so I really understand what you are going through. It took me so long to reconnect with her, as abortion is disruptive to any truthful relationship. Keep testifying to your faith and to your love.

I do not want to give you false hope, but it seems unlikely that she can have the abortion on the same day that she goes to PP. I have not heard of this happening. Not to say it can’t, but usually they examine the girl first, do the US to find out where the baby is/how far along she is, and then have her come back for the abortion.

Still praying that the baby is not killed.

I’ve heard this too - that might buy some time - - rhis may sound like a silly question, and I’m sure you’ve asked her- but have you asked her if there was anything, anything at all that could be done to change her mind? I don’t want to sound like I’m bribing, (but I guess it kind of does sound that way - sorry) - but is there anything that could be offered to change her mind?)
Sorry if this came off rude - I just thought - maybe

Yeah, like a payoff. Tell her that some adoption agencies allow her expenses and a stipend to be paid.

My niece called me yesterday afternoon to tell me her boyfriend’s family came up with the money for the abortion so I didn’t need to come get her for the appt’s I made for her. I don’t know what time she will be down at planned parenthood and I don’t know how to find out. What breaks my heart, besides the loss of this baby, is that I don’t know how to deal with the feeling I know I’m going to have about her. She won’t listen to her parent’s , aunts, cousins or grandparents.
This is heartbreaking. Yes be outside the planned parenthood when she goes in. She may or may not get the abortion that day but they will definitely be pushing her. Don’t give up hope. It’s not too late. Keep praying.

Another thing - The more likely she is to go into planned parenthood - the more likely she is to go through with the abortion. 9 out of 10 pregnant women that go in there come out with an abortion. 😦 I saw this in an article ‘the numbers that planned parenthood doesn’t want you to know’. Abortion is how they make their $$, they will NOT try to talk her out of it. If you can - stop here from ever going in there. If she goes inside I would tell her you’ll be outside praying for her.

I am very sorry to report that I could not stop my niece. She talked with me briefly outside planned parenthood, but only to tell me was not going to change her mind. I was not able to stop her from going in that building. Thank you for you prayers and support. I’m am trying to remember that “she knows not what she does” but I am just so mad at her right now. She had so much support from her family for other options.

I’m sorry to hear how much this hurt you but I’m sure you’re aware that some women come to later regret having had an abortion -Your neice may be one of these people - I know you’re angry at her right now but she really may need you to be a source of support later on. It sounds like you’re the only Catholic voice she’s hearing -I read was on the Priest for Life website about abortion and baptism and it said:
"The 1992 Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “As regards children who have died without Baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved, and Jesus’ tenderness toward children which caused him to say: “Let the children come to me, do not hinder them,” allows us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without Baptism. All the more urgent is the Church’s call not to prevent little children coming to Christ through the gift of holy Baptism.” (#1261)"
They also mentioned:
"Catholic funeral rites include special funeral prayers for children who die before baptism, which can be used in the case of a miscarried or stillborn child"

I’m genuinely sorry this hurt you -I have no doubt many on here will be praying for your neice and yourself -

Still, pray for her. You are right that she didn’t truly know what she was doing, although she had enough information to make this gravely sinful, no “out” for her. Our society keeps women quiet, so that new victims of this horrible holocaust are created every day. She thinks she got rid of the “problem,” but as soon as it began, she must have known that it was a mistake. Most women say they knew it then or even before the procedure, and some try to get out but are usually thwarted by the abortionist. You’d think they wouldn’t care, they already have the cash - what’s it to them if a woman changes her mind? That’s just one little reason I feel these places are under the control of Satan - it’s like they hate babies and want as many to die as possible.

Pray that your anger is lifted so you can help your niece when she needs it. It’s awful that she had the abortion in spite of everything, but there was only so much you could do.

I am so sorry. Just keep the doors for healing open and make sure you know how to get in touch with Rachel’s Vineyards.

Women who regret their abortions often offer the most profound witness to the horror of it all. They know, they have been there. Who knows, maybe one day your niece will be one of those women and will save countless babies through her testimony. All things are possible with God.

Sending prayers. When the time is right, remember rachelsvineyard.org/
The beauty in the Catholic church is that it is there for healing and welcome with open arms to those who seek it.

Praying.

How sad. 😦

As a woman who is infertile, I would be over the moon with excitement if God chose to give me a child. I feel so sad/angry when I hear of young women who throw their babies away, not appreciating the gift that God has given to them.

I wish I could have spoken to your niece. I would have adopted her baby.

Sending you and your family prayers.

My sister just told me her daughter is going to get an abortion. I just found out and I need to get resources. Someone that myself or my sister can talk to. I feel that time is running out. Her boyfriend is for the abortion so there is not help there and she also has some personality disorders. She is 18 years old. Any advice would really help.
Remind her of the story in the Gospels about Joseph when he was going to quietly divorce Mary because she was with child and they had no relations. . . Joseph said yes to God’s will regardless of the struggles they encountered.

A great movie, OctoberBaby would be a good one for her to see. Check out this link:

And last but not least:

PSALM 139

Lord, you have probed me, you know me:
You know when I sit and stand;
You understand my thoughts from afar.
My travels and my rest you mark;
With all my ways you are familiar.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
Lord, you know it all.
Behind and before you encircle me
And rest your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is beyond me,
Far too lofty for me to reach.

You formed my inmost being;
You knit me in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, so wonderfully you
Made me; wonderful are your works!
My very self you knew;
My bones were not hidden from you,
When I was being made in secret,
Fashioned as in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes foresaw my actions;
In your book all are written down;
My days were shaped, before one came to be.

I’m sorry that I did not read all the posts before I placed my 1st post. Please remind your neice that Jesus loves her no matter what and that God’s loving kindness, boundless mercy and faithfulness awaits. May God’s Holy Spirit guide her to the Sacrament of Reconcilliation so she may restore her relationship with God.
