But we have a way to separate a rapist - actually, to separate any criminal - from anyone else. Life in prison.
Don’t misjudge me - I am for the death penalty when the crime is so heinous that nothing else seems just.
Biologically speaking, we know that conception doesn’t take place instantaneously. It takes 48 to 72 hours for the two cells to even find each other in what amounts to a hostile environment. (This is why getting pregnant at all for anyone at any age actually isn’t easy without absolutely perfect timing - the egg itself isn’t even viable for long after 72 hours post-release.) In an emergency department, female rape victims are routinely asked if they would like Plan B. Knowing biology and physiology, and as much pharmacology as I do, it’s highly doubtful that in the immediate aftermath its administration is even an abortifacient. I think this is a poor example since we know that you don’t get pregnant a few minutes after sex.
As for the OP, I actually looked this subject up and read some interesting articles on the subject. This is between the person and God, not us. I’m sure there are plenty of people receiving Communion on a daily basis that have less grace in them than we all believe they should.
