No, I’m saying individuals throughout history have created their own man-made religions because they deny divinely revealed Truth. Are you saying that it is wrong for **anyone **to disobey Papal authority?

I came to this forum off of Google and saw a lot of people attacking others based on their personal beliefs… which I think is BS. I created a thread to foster mutual tolerance and I get attacked… tell me, how am I going to feel when I leave here?Again then, why are you here. I don’t mean to be mean, but if we take a composite of your previous posts:
I must ask again why are you here. If you truly believe what you have posted here, then it shouldn’t matter to you what we think or what the Church thinks whether you are under authority or not. And since truth is relative and should leave people alone, you shouldn’t be here bothering us.
- I’m not under the Church’s authority
- truth is relative and all religions equally valid
- religion should leave people alone
Please, I don’t mean this in an offensive way, but I am trying to understand your motives and reasoning for being here - as it doesn’t seem you care to learn a thing about what the Church teaches, other than to confirm you in your sin(s).
Does God speak through the Pope? No, but I’m saying that it is wrong for anyone to disobey God.
I don’t see the modern day Catholic religion as the one true religion, so your argument is lost on me.No, I’m saying individuals throughout history have created their own man-made religions because they deny divinely revealed Truth.
Yes, he does - and through the Bishops. But, this teaching isn’t one that is exclusive to revealed truth. This law is on the hearts of all men, everywhere. Even those who have never come into contact with the proclamation of the Gospel have this natural law inscribed on their hearts. And they must obey it.Does God speak through the Pope?
How have you been attacked? We’re merely pointing out the Truth of the Catholic Church.I came to this forum off of Google and saw a lot of people attacking others based on their personal beliefs… which I think is BS. You should feel that the Catholic Church doesn’t tolerate religious indifference or relativism. We respect and love people, but not erroneous and soul-endangering opinions and teachings.I came to this forum off of Google and saw a lot of people attacking others based on their personal beliefs… which I think is BS. I don’t see the Pope and bishops as anything other than normal men who serve God. No different that any minister, except more famous.Yes, he does - and through the Bishops. Yes, you’ve shown that you are not even open to the possibility because some of your behavior may come into question.I don’t see the modern day Catholic religion as the one true religion, so your argument is lost on me.
What if I say that I do not believe your “truth”?How have you been attacked? We’re merely pointing out the Truth of the Catholic Church.
It’s not MY Truth, it’s God’s.What if I say that I do not believe your “truth”?
How can the church not tolerate protestants when it has no authority over them? You should feel that the Catholic Church doesn’t tolerate religious indifference or relativism. We respect and love people, but not erroneous and soul-endangering opinions and teachings.
This law wasn’t created by the Pope or the Bishops!!! This comes straight from God. Even every Protestant denomination recognized that fact (on scriptural grounds no less) up until about 70-80 years ago.I don’t see the Pope and bishops as anything other than normal men who serve God. No different that any minister, except more famous.
So you see, I do not believe that any church rule created by the Pope was actually created by God.
I don’t believe that either.It’s not MY Truth, it’s God’s.

We love Protestants, but not those teachings which are false. Now, Protestantism has some of the truth, but not all of it. We acknowledge were they have truth, but that which is false, we cannot confirm. How can the church not tolerate protestants when it has no authority over them?
Right, the only reason you can say that is because you believe that you have a higher truth than others…?I don’t believe that either.
Perhaps you should investigate the claim deeper.I don’t see the Pope and bishops as anything other than normal men who serve God. No different that any minister, except more famous.

While the Pope confirms this teaching, it didn’t originate with the Pope - it originates in Scripture and Sacred Tradition (did you read those links I provided you). It originates in the natural law which God has written on the hearts of every man.Straight from God, through the Pope?
I don’t believe that.
Why?Straight from God, through the Pope?
I don’t believe that.
