I haven’t read all the replies, but is there ny way you could send him to a Truimph of Truth conference or Catholic Speakers conference. It’s possible once he sees other men on fire for the faith and encourage ‘men of faith’ to lead the family, then your husband might have a change of heart.
Now, at first it may seem like an impossibility to get your husband to go, but if your serious about it then you probably could.
Sit him down, let him know how this is tearing you up inside and don’t let him get defensive. Say that it’s not about how he feels justified, but what he can do for YOU in this marriage. Ask him if he’s willing to do this for YOU and this marriage. Ask him if he can make this effort based on how you feel and how important you think it is.
Then, go ahead and buy the ticket. Give it to him and say, “Please, no matter what you think about this, you know you can do this for me.”
Cradle-Catholics tend not to listen to those they know about the Catholic faith because they feel like they already know what there is to know. But it’s a little easier to let their guard down around others who have something to say about the faith.
