Hail Mary full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus
Holy Mary Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death
Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

The LORD bless you
and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace.” Num 6:24-26

Our Father who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
One Earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil

AMEN

Thank you all for your prayers, they are much needed right now!

The ‘new’ nursing home/chronic care hospital that my sister was moved to, has turned out to be awful and she is very miserable. When I first went to take a look at the facilities I only saw one of the 5 wards (bit of a rush visit). This was a very large room, spacious, bright and clean with beautiful curtains and linen and had approx 10 beds on each side with lots of space between beds, making a total of about 20 beds in the ward.

It turns out that not all the wards are the same! She is in one that has 40 - 50 beds - but is the same size as the room I saw. Hard to believe they would squeeze so many chronically ill people into such a space. They have managed this by creating a partition down the middle of the room (imagine a rectangular room, divided in half lengthways), thereby creating two wards of 20 beds in each half.

There is no privacy and at a stretch you can almost touch hands with the person in the bed next to you. It is noisy and the staff have to be ''tipped" (gratuity) every time she wants something extra brought to her like a cooldrink etc.

The other poor souls in the immediate area around her, are in various mental & physical conditions that are distressing and noisy. I’m sure, like any of us, she could survive the existing conditions, but, it is the lack of genuine care and sympathy of the staff that is making her so sad and miserable.

When the social worker returns from leave I will be making a point of meeting with her to discuss all this, but will have to tread carefully. Please continue to pray for her.

HAIL HOLY QUEEN
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy
Hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.

Turn then O most gracious Advocate thine eyes of mercy towards us
And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus
O clement, O Loving, O sweet Virgin Mary
Pray for us O holy Mother of God
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

I’m very grateful for that, very kind of you. I am going to visit my sister tomorrow, so will be able to give an update soon. God bless

Pleased to report that they have moved my sister’s bed further into the ward against the window wall (it was previously in the centre island that divides the room into 2 wards). I noticed there are quite a few empty beds (?) and it appears to be more spacious because of this.

Also news, is it looks as if all the staff are back from leave, and there were many to be seen. They are all friendly with me and my sister looks to be very comfortable, and more at peace.

Perhaps all the overcrowding and staff irritability can be put down to the holiday season and being short staffed.

Thank you all for the prayers and concern. God hears us, we just need to trust Him and be patient. Please continue to pray for her full recovery and most of all, for her to come back to Our Lord (her true friend) and the comfort of her Faith.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
AMEN

Dee praying for you and your sister. I am glad things are getting somewhat better for your sister. It was sometimes hard for me when I went to go visit my late husband’s mother, in the nursing home, but I always knew i could not take care of her myselft

Bless you Dee
