Not according to anything I’ve ever seen. Once it’s consecrated, that’s it.

This man should be prosceuted under federal hate crime laws. He is specifically attacking Jesus Christ, and at the same time he is attacking the Catholic Church. He is commiting violence against Jesus. How in the universe is this not an illegal hate crime?

Jesus is being physically assaulted and that’s “OK,” it just those hyper-sensitive Catholics looking for a fight. But let’s put out a cartoon that mocks Islam and the world just might stop spinning on its axis.

You know what I’d like to see? Him trying to destroy or desecrate it somehow and be unable to (well, I wouldn’t “like” it, but I think you know what I mean).

Have him try to burn it and it won’t burn, or dissolve it in water and it won’t dissolve, or break it up, but it “somehow” won’t break.

What I really would like is for him to have a change of heart and return it.

But who are we kidding, whatever happens, he’ll be hailed as a hero in professor circles, and colleges everywhere will be beating a path to his door to hire him. He’ll continue to make a huge salary and the whole time have a smug attitude that “he showed the Catholics a thing or two.”

But, I remember something Fr. John Corapi SOLT Std. said one time, that God is sometimes like the old MasterCard commercials: “Pay me now or pay me later,” I’d hate to see “later” for this guy-which I’ll pray is just an exceptionally difficult purgatory and not the other place." I know I’m pushing my luck with Christian charity and civility, but this really makes me mad! :mad: :mad: :mad:
 
It makes me mad, too. I actually lay awake until 3 AM last night thinking about this it upset me so much! I finally sat down and wrote the man an e-mail.

We shouldn’t show our anger, though. This is what the devil wants – to have us fail, to show our weaknesses, and poke at their soreness.
 
His 15 minutes of fame are about up. He will soon go back to be a thrid rate professor at a thid rate college. And before i start get inudnted by complaints for calling the college third rate-if they were first rate they never would have hired this guy.

Or the college would dock his pay.

This is simply bad PR for the university. What Catholic would feel safe going to this university, knowing that his/her religious rights were not safe?

No, it is not true. As long as the accidents of bread and wine remain, so does the substance of the Body and Blood of Christ.

I pray that no harm comes to him, but if (when he began the desecration) a big bolt of lightning came down so close that it blistered his fanny…

Pray for him yes but I have justified anger towards him. Before you jump all over me, let me give something in my defense:
  1. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus made a whip out of rope and drove out the money changers in the Temple because they were DESECRATING the Temple. In a similar way so is this “Professor”.
  2. While a miraculous conversion would be a wonderful thing, I also recall the perfect justice of God when he turned Lot’s Wife into a Pillar of Salt. If God were to do that just as he would desecrate the Eucharist, then God be praised.

Surprise, surprise. The University President Bruininks is the same man who said last year that the play “The Witch and the Pope” would go on as scheduled, despite requests from the Catholic League that it not. I think we can all read through the lines and see that this university supports anti-Catholicism.

Oh, absolutely! Other colleges might try to deny it. This one, apparently, is proud of it. :mad:
 
That is the saddest, most immature, and hostile thing I have ever seen in someone calling themselves a professional adult. I can’t imagine stooping to that level.

May God have mercy on his soul. Pray for his conversion.
 
Lack of empathy is a characteristic typical of personality disorders. Perhaps he can be excused for having a possible mental illness like NPD. And we can be guaranteed that the Eucharist was consecrated, how? I highly doubt it was. In any event, we know the end of the story and that is, the devil doesn’t win.
 
I just read he went though with it, desecrating a host, a Koran, and something else he calls a surprise entry. The Catholic League has notified CAIR so Myers has no idea the can of worms he has opened for himself in this life and the next. I prayed he wouldnt do it…

I highly doubt it was consecrated… and how is he ever going to prove it was?

I would hope the hosts were not consecrated however it is easier for someone to walk into a church, go up to receive the Eucharist and walk out than it would be for them to find and buy a bag of unconsecrated hosts. He also claims he had several hosts possibly from different people possibly some consecrated.

In addition he has desecrated a Koran so whether or not the hosts were consecrated the Koran would be indisputable.
