I’d shower my desk with more Icons of Our Lady and maybe a big old St Michael depiction. Maybe sprinkle the area with some Holy water and leave a decorative small vial of Holy water also on my desk.

But I’m like that 🙂

You are clearly evangelising for the Catholic Church even when you are not at your desk, so keep up the good work. Definitely think about more pictures though.

Reporting it as harassment might result in a ban of all religious items on everyone’s desk, depending on the company. So reporting might be a last resort. Even then, you might just give the person a martyr complex. I do think it is a good reminder that our life is a gospel to all we meet. There is no better representative for the Catholic Church than a person who lives a moral life.

I agree, I thought of that but I haven’t received another note. I do check and am relieved, BUT… I need to study and be more proficient in my faith to educate and inform…

I agree… i do need to think of it that way… maybe they are curious about Catholicism… hmmm…

Before you approach management about this incident, please review your employer’s policies regarding display of religious items in the workplace. You want to be certain that you’re not exposing yourself to company reprisal, as well as employee games. I’d save the first note in a labeled Ziplock and keep fresh Ziplocks handy for picking up any new note, using a Ziplock so that my fingerprints touch neither the note, nor the bag interior.

Even if the perpetrator is not a stalker, s/he thinks mind games are cute. After the second contact, I’d go to my supervisor, although I once had a supervisor who was kinky like that, in which case I’d go to a higher-up person in the chain of command.

For what it’s worth: it’s my belief that your work time should be for your employer. Accordingly, I think religious articles and pictures invite comment and should remain hidden for your perusal during break times only, not on public display, which would have given no employee the idea of playing with you.

I wish you a good resolution.
