When I returned, there was a note tucked in front of the picture I have of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus.
Matt 12:33-37, specifically verse 33, “Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree bad, and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.”

Be at peace @ZimBoo. Hail Mary, full of grace. Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Yes, it did make me feel uncomfortable yet very curious, since I don’t speak to anyone at work except for work related issues and nothing else. The only person I would speak with about my faith was another Catholic but he left the company about a month ago.

I will keep the note.

Yeah. Brush it off. It was inappropriate in a work environment whatever their meaning and purpose was.

Read all the phrases one after the other and find the offense this “friend” from God was trying to say.
Jer 3:15 “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
2 Tim 3:7 “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
Luke 7:47 "Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”
“Her” (and here Jesus talks with Mary Magdalene when she was a whore) is mrant to be the Church, who is compared to a well intended whore, composed of pastors (Jeremiah) who mean well but never find the truth. And the composer of the text is also some sort of judge who forgives the Church.
Hope I am wrong but why did s(h)e end it with the words Jesus said to the sinning woman in the same context when they referred to pastors and their inability (according to the author of the note) to find the truth?
To a note like this I would reply something about the wolves masked as sheep who try to smitten people and put an entire text from the NT there not just verses, because someone who signs as a friend but is hiddenly offensive can only be a hidden wolf.
Or because it is Lent maybe say nothing, join Christ on His silent Cross…

Yes, being silent with Christ on this feels right, even though I would like to write something.

Thank you!

Putting all of the verses together, I would say that this person is criticizing your moral character, but they or their pastors can teach you good moral character. SICK!!!

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.

Ooo… I like that, wolves masked as sheep…
well, let’s see if anything else “appears” Thank you!

A strange triumvirate of verses to be sure. Oh, and a “friend of the Lord” would not say “Good day” - that’s for IRS agents.
If it’s a Protestant trying to “call you out” they’re not doing a very good job. None of those verses sound anti-Catholic
It has been said that where facts are few, opinions are many. This has its source in the world of research, but applies across the board.

Having said that, there is not a single jot or tittle in scripture that goes against the Catholic Church.

Yes! I will keep you informed if any other type of correspondence occurs! 🙂

Hello,

I was out of work for one week with the flu.
When I returned, there was a note tucked in front of the picture I have of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus.
The note said, "Jer 3:15 2 Tim 3:7 Luke 7:47.
at the end of this it said,
"I’m just a friend of the Lord. Good Day 🙂

In my cubicle, I have my Catholic pictures and figurines and calendar.
My husband says it’s most likely a protestant being condescending.

I have no idea who this is from, I really don’t talk to anyone here at work and if you saw my cubicle you would know I am a Catholic.

Should I just brush this off?

Thank you!
It was a nice note.

Peace.

I agree. The fact that they didn’t show themselves and are keeping their identity secret shows their true character. They’re just “one of those people” that is too cowardly to show themselves.

I guess the verses aren’t meant to be encouraging? I didn’t look them up.

That’s very sad if they’re using scripture in a sneaky way.

Why not just try and look at them through the eyes of Jesus and love them regardless of what their intentions were.

Let’s give this person credit for having good intentions. However, I recall here that the military definition of “good intentions” is friendly fire.

We are allowed to admonish the sinner. The first spiritual work of mercy.
