Sad day, whether Fr. McGrath was guilty of abuse or not.

Of course they will not release findings if it is other than suicide. It makes a better story if they can say he is guilty because he committed suicide. It’s strange that they allowed comments because the last couple of news items about accused priests were closed to comments. I wonder if it has to do with the CBC website being monitored by different people based depending the province. This report was on the NL site, the closed comments were on the NB site.
It’s also the implication of suicide that is problematic. No autopsy result was released by the RCMP so people jumped to the conclusion that he had killed himself. Now that may be but will they release the cause of death if it’s not carbon monoxide poisoning which the article implies?
