Since this happened in a Catholic Church, I decided to post this here:
Naked teenager streaks through church mass

A NORTHERN Territory teenager has run naked through a church and jumped up on the altar in the middle of a midnight Christmas mass.

About 150 Catholic churchgoers in Alice Springs were stunned by the prank yesterday but reacted quickly to hold the naked reveller until police arrived.

I kinda dont know wether to laugh or be shocked. I mean how dumb is that, to go streaking at Church. But I know thats completely disrespectful. Idk! Wow.
 
ahahahahahaaha!!! :rotfl: If I had been there, I would have been pretty irritated, but after seeing him in cuffs and nothing else, I probably would have asked the priest to bless the guy on his way out the door. You have to admit though, this is a pretty funny story. 🙂

Count me in. I was less disturbed, and more stressed that there is another example of blank stupidity to raise the intellect of teenagers these days.

The only problem I had, was that it was during Mass. That is a definite no-no. :nope:

I’m not sure why you quoted my post for this comment, unless you took me out of context. I was referring to exorcism being a specialized form of prayer, not this disturbed boy’s actions.

I think humor was his intent, not to mention Satan’s. 5 is old enough to know better. He was 18. I’d like to see him try this in a Mosque. I don’t think too many would be laughing. This type of behavior is as innocent as what happens on some spring breaks. A lot think it’s innocent fun but they are sadly mistaken.
 
I woulda subdued him, taken him around back, and taught him a few Christmas lessons behind the Church, and then turn him over to the cops.

Just disrespectful.

“As I understand it he was dancing around the altar provocatively,” he said.

He had to be drunk. I find myself almost hoping so, for his culpability would be mitigated and it would be easier to forgive: jumping naked onto the Altar of Sacrifice. We should make acts of reparation to Our Lord in the Blessed Sarcament for this stupidity.
 
Someone should have made a whip of cords while he was being held.

I really don’t see the humor in this… I’m sort of shocked people can see humor in it. To dance naked and provacative in front of Christ is funny? Would it also be funny if someone did something else to mock Christ?

I don’t understand…

Because we’re human? :confused: Just answering your question… you might not find it funny, but I found the story funny. I know I might be in the minority here, but I did find it funny. I don’t proclaim to know the intent behind the streaker or what motivated him to do something like that or even what might have been a catalyst… chemically or behaviorally. But for me, I thought the story was funny and since I wasn’t there, I can laugh at it. I don’t proclaim to personally know what Christ would have thought, but I do know we aren’t supposed to be so tight that we can’t find the silliness in issues. (Yes, I’m well aware this streaker is 18). How many of you did something so ridiculously stupid, potentially dangerous and/or illegal when you were that age and you can laugh about it now? Not that you’d advocate it now, but you can laugh at it.

ok, off my soapbox… 😛
