Someone already mentioned what the worst was. But what about the best, though most likely it’s prolly been done before. Ah well.

Here’s mine in no particular order.

Cape Fear (1962)
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (1962)
The Night of the Hunter (1955)
The Dark Knight (2008)
The Monster Squad (1987)
The Rocky films (1976-2006)
Terminator 1 and 2. Can’t wait for Terminator Genisys that’s coming out this year!

Anyways what’s yours? And please give detail as to why you think they are the best.

Gandhi still moves me whenever I see it. I still enjoy The Sting, too.

But regarding the new Terminator movie, I am hoping there will be a good explanation as to why they would ever purposefully design an aging, deteriorating cyborg - besides providing another role for Arnold, that is.

Star Wars (I saw it in the theater in 1977 when it first came out, there had never been anything like it before!)

I remember some of the critics saying that it wasn’t going to do very well in the theater because movie goers were not ready to embrace the space genre again (after Star Trek in 1966). 😃
 
The Wizard of Oz. People will be watching this movie 100+ years from now.

What we personally like and what’s truly great are different animals. I personally love The Blues Brothers, but no way is it one of the greatest movies ever made.
 
Casablanca—numero uno. The entire movie fits together perfectly.
