I made what’s called a “dump cake,” where you just layer a couple of ingredients together in a cake pan. I love making them, since they’re really easy to make, and they don’t require any mixing, or any eggs.
I made a black forest cherry dump cake last night with canned cherry pie filling and butter, and Devil’s food cake mix and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
It turned out really good. It’s not too sweet.
So, we had some of that this evening, with a little bit of whipped cream on it.
My husband loves cherries and Black Forest Cake, so I decided to try making this for him.
I’ve never cared for it, Milt, but then I never cared for Coke before this year! I’m not even going to try Mountain Dew! I don’t need another addiction in my life!
For dinner tonight we had leftover beef pot roast with roasted baby carrots and roasted russet potatoes. I made some small green salads to go with, and warmed up some honey white artisan bread to go with, too.
We had some leftover black forest cherry dump cake for dessert.
