I’m sorry, Milt. I didn’t know you were diabetic. Are you Type 1?
I am type 2 , but I need insulin shots to control it along with diet and etc. Several of my relatives have/had it too, but they were/are all type 1.
If I’m not mistaken, you would be exempt from the dietary restrictions of Lent because of your diabetes. I know Type 1 diabetics are. And I think Type 2 diabetics are as well, if they require insulin. As long as you obey your dr, you’ll be okay.

It’s funny how the Type 1 diabetes runs through my paternal line. And the Type 2 diabetics are my maternal relatives. Mama is on a low sodium diabetic diet. She hates it. But I make her stick to it. I follow the same diet but don’t mind it as much as she does. She loves salty items. And I don’t.

I’ve had Gatorade and a cough drop so far. I’ll have my bone broth for breakfast. Just trying to keep the coughing fits down.

I still abstain from meat, but I have to be careful with fasting.
Same here, Milt. This year, I’m lucky not to have to fast. But that is only because I am preparing for my surgery which I will be having as soon as this flu epidemic is gone. As for the meat, I’d be happy not to have it ever again since I can’t swallow it.

There are several members of my family who are diabetic. Mama doesn’t like having her glucose checked. She’s squeamish of needles. I monitor my blood sugar several times a day. You just have to find that balance. 😃
The dentist takes five small vials of blood from my arm when he does implant surgery, then separates the growth factor, mixes it with a little more blood and injects it into the implant site. It stimulates the bone graft. My oldest brother had it done yesterday, I’m having implant surgery on Monday. It’s very easy for the patient, easier than a filling. But a LOT of needles are used! 😱 The numbing, the blood, the steroid injections in the gums to cut down on swelling. Luckily, I have no fear of needles, but my brother does. Still, he did great.

I had oatmeal with blueberries, 12-grain toast, small orange juice, green tea.

I don’t eat meat to begin with and rarely eat sweets, so I have to find something else. I eat so little, it’s difficult.

That’s like Mama. She’s difficult when it comes to food. We get into a lot of arguments about her food (or lack of it).

I’m on my 2nd Gatorade. When the kitchen floor dries, I’ll make some tea.

I’m just so small, if I eat much, I get sick. My mother was the same. Small and didn’t eat much. I even have to buy half-size salads. Can’t possibly finish a whole one. That’s why I like to supplement with the green juice.

Oats and water today.

I’m trying out this loaded cauliflower soup recipe tomorrow:

If I have any leftover florets I’ll roast em’ with garlic or dice them into a salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

Mama weighs between 96-106lbs. It depends on what she eats. When I was so sick that I couldn’t give her a proper meal, she ate Hershey bars and drank Boost. Now I’m up to giving her normal meals again and all she wants is her Hershey bars for supper.

She’s having tomato soup for lunch. I’m having fish.

That’s usually my weight range, too, about 95-105. I’m just under five feet tall.

Goodness! That cauliflower soup looks delicious! I love cauliflower! I may cook, just so I can have some! I know how to cook, I just usually don’t do much of it.

I’m an avid cook. I consider it a hobby.

There’s several other things from the Delish website I’ll be making in February. They have some pretty awesome stuff.

I noticed that! 😃 I may have to wash my pots and pans and return to cooking myself.

I am definitely going to give this soup a try, although I will not add the white wine to it.

It also looks like there are other recipes on the link too.

Thanks TK. have a cookie as a reward. 🍪

I’m actually 4’11", but I elevate it to “just under five feet.” It’s still the truth! 🤣 My mother was five feet…actually.
