ConstantLearner, I hope you feel better soon. :pray:t2:
Thank you, Pup. That food poisoning was some time ago.

It’s good to find another oatmeal-for-breakfast person here! I have it almost every day with berries and flax seeds. And 12-grain toast, a small glass of orange juice, and green tea (not a frappuccino!)!

Welcome to the thread for people who really relish what they eat and drink! 🙂
I got an Instant Pot a couple of months ago and it makes amazing oatmeal right in the bowl. I like it with real maple syrup, frozen cranberries, and real cinnamon. Takes about ten minutes with real oats, not the instant ones. (No oatmeal lover would tolerate instant oats. LOL.)

The chili is a firehouse chili recipe from Taste Of Home magazine. And no, it’s not on my diet. Probably never will be. (Firehouse Chili Recipe: How to Make It | Taste of Home )

Wendy’s Chili is the only chili I can stomach. The restaurant I go to doesn’t season heavily. You get a hint of chili taste. When I recover from my surgery, I’m going to try to replicate it at home. If I can’t, Mama will enjoy it. She loves homemade chili.

Today is one of the last “naughty” splurges I will have, if not the last one, until I recover from my surgery. I don’t eat pastrami or corned beef other than on St Paddy’s Day. So it’s a splurge. I think today is Mama’s first time having pastrami. Very thinly sliced.

I’ve had one medium sandwich. And I am stuffed to the gills. (I normally have large sandwiches but didn’t feel up to it today.) Mama will probably have the other half of hers this evening. I will have bone broth if I’m up to anything. I need to have something sensible for supper. Maybe some Jello since that will also be off my diet til I recover.

Watch out for the Instant Pot. There are recalls on some models. Hopefully, yours isn’t one of them.

I’ll try that! Thank you! 🙂 And you’re right - no instant oatmeal!

Wendy’s isn’t really spicy enough for me, but I understand why you don’t eat much spice at all, Lily. Or tomatoes. Hopefully, that’s all going to change soon! Believe it or not, I CAN make chili - good, edible chili - and fried potatoes!

Any chance of going back to my spicy cast iron stomach ways has probably been ruined forever after my former neighbor’s over zealousness with spices nearly landed me in the grave. I’ve grown content with light seasonings or none at all.

I just had water tonight. It’s been so hot today that I don’t even feel like a sandwich. I can’t wait til I can grow my own salad ingredients. I do love my salads.

I had fire engine hot vegetable soup tonight! My brother makes it, and he likes things so spicy my mouth burns for an hour afterward! Otherwise, it was good.

I love salads, too, Lily! Probably my favorite thing to eat.

For tonight’s dinner I had corned beef, roasted red potatoes, roasted baby carrots, and roasted cabbage with cold bottled water to drink.

Very good advice on the Instant Pot recalls…my brother beat you to it, and thankfully, no, it’s not on the recall list.

I’m glad. I’m in love with the thing.

My go-to favorite lunch of tomato soup and potato chips. They go great together!

Tonight I’m making scalloped potatoes and ham for dinner. I was saving the ham for Easter, but it turns out my husband’s birthday is on Easter this year, and he wants T-bones. 🙂

I had a banana smoothie this morning - not oatmeal! (I’ll go back to that tomorrow.)

A fried egg, bacon, a blueberry muffin, strawberries, half an orange, two tomato slices, and orange juice.

I’d love to have a banana smoothie. The bananas aren’t ripe enough tho.

I had the rest of my sandwich and some chips. Drank seltzer water.

I love baklava!

Green Goodness juice, Chocolate Protein Plus and water. Going to get my Gatorade in at some point.
