In my experience, it’s been very different from America. One time I asked for Chinese mustard, they gave me a funny look, and brought out a bottle of Frenches. Another time I was in the mood for Egg Foo Yung and got a plate full of scrambled eggs. 🙃

I hope they are good, too, Lily. I’ll say a prayer for you. I have surgery scheduled for Monday, April 16th. Hoping I can get it out of the way. I know how you feel. We just want to put these things behind us.
I’m praying your surgery will be successful, ConstantLearner.

I didn’t have any tests run yesterday, My new lung dr and I went over my CT x-rays. He said everything looks good except for the polyps being there. We just have to figure out what has caused them. I told him I’d been sick all winter with the flu. So he noted that.

He said if I were a smoker and older, he’d be concerned about the polyps because of their location. He was very thorough in his questioning. Asked if I’d been around anyone with TB. (Wow, the first time anyone’s mentioned TB in ages.) I told him not that I know of.

Anyway, I have a PET scan scheduled for April 19th. It’ll last 2 hrs. He’ll have the results the next day and I am to call him then. Depending on the results, the next step will be a biopsy. And then depending on what that shows, I may or may not be allowed to have my surgery within 2 weeks of that date.

So it looks like, at best, I won’t be having my throat surgery until next month.😔

My day’s intake so far has been macaroni and beef, 2 servings of Caesar salad and Ensure.

Trying to get all my solids in me early so that I don’t have any issues tomorrow when I’m at my PCP’s.

Thank you for your prayers, Lily. I greatly appreciate them, and I’m praying for you, too. I’m glad to read your new doctor is not concerned with cancer.

My surgery may be delayed as well. It seems my clotting time is not as fast as they’d like it to be. They are trying to decide if a transfusion of platelets would be enough if it would come to that. I did not bleed much when I had my implant surgery, and there was no perioperative bleeding. I may be sent to another ENT, and my surgery could be delayed until May, too. The new surgeon wants to remove the entire salivary gland, not just the cyst. General anesthesia for that, not just local.

All this waiting is awful, isn’t it? Worse than the surgery! All we want to do is feel better! Praying for both of us!

Thank you so much @Autumn-Smoke and @Milt. Your prayers are very much appreciated! 🙂

Like @Lilypadrees I’m on a lot of liquids now, but for my mouth, not my stomach. Hope Lily and I have our surgeries soon before we float away!

I swear, I’m ready to perform surgery on myself. I wonder if I could get a surgeon certificate in a day?😉 That’s how frustrated I am. Praying the results on the 20th are good. I don’t know whether to say I want them to be positive or negative. Whichever one means the polyps aren’t cancerous. It’s so confusing.

I hope your surgery won’t have to be postponed. But both of our surgeons are wise to take these precautions. It means they aren’t in it for the money. They really care about their patients.

I am playing it cautious and sticking mainly to liquids. I may have to buy some more food. Mama and I can’t eat all of the same foods (me, partly because of having my gall bladder out). And because I was so sure I was going to be having my surgery this past Monday, I didn’t buy food for myself (apart from my eating out). I concentrated on liquids. The food I bought was for Mama, our fur babies and Chicky Roo.

For dinner I had a Burger King Whopper Burger and some Burger King chicken nuggets and some fries, and a small raspberry lemonade to drink.

I’m currently drinking bottled water.

Chicken breast and mashed potatoes with chicken - onion gravy, fresh green beans, and fresh wheat rolls, washed down with a good IPA.

That is funny. I guess the restaurant is not Chinese owned?

A can of chili with stewed tomatoes. I have a bad cold. The chili has peppers and jalapenos. Hoping that will clear up nasal passages. I have been sick since
Saturday. Ready to feel better again.
