i couldn’t watch it… left before half over…

So now to address the question you all must be asking…

Why would someone as obviously intelligent, erudite and morally upstanding as Distracted, watch something like this?? 😃

It was about 50 yrs ago… when i wasn’t so intelligent… and etc… 😦

but at least i was intellligent enough to see - in the first few minutes of this worthless piece of trash… that it was unwrothy of my time…

Night of the Living Dead RULES!!!👍👍👍 The only thing better was Dawn of the Dead, that’s in the top ten greatest of all time! Love the “Dead” series!

i saw Clockwork Orange because, amazingly, it was part of a classroom assingment in a college class i took yrs ago… I didn’t have to choose that movie but i was curioius because i’d heard of it… I stopped watching after the first few minutes… :eek: I know what you are talking about…

but then the instructor said that there really was a message in the movie… so i finished watching it. I didn’t think it was a bad movie at all… i think it says something about human nature… i’m not sure those who produced it wanted the msg that I, personally, got .but this is one message i got: Basically, in society, you are d— if you do and d---- if you don’t… once you are labeled a “criminal”… but that may be just what i got out of it…

in any case, there are other messages from that movie…

and Malcolm McDowell… it was worth watching just to see him… 🙂

You’re a great guy, Distracted but you couldn’t be more off on this one! LOL…considered one of the top greatest horror flicks of all time. Absolutely classic and a blast to watch. 🤷

Seen it. And yes, it would be up there, lacking as it does even the naive charm of a Coleman Francis flick.

It’s pure nihilism. The film reflects a darkness that can admit no light, where heroism is wasted, where irrationality rules. It is the bitter stench of raw sewage topped with a cherry made of blood sausage.

Did you ever see Shaun of the Dead? It was so amazingly stupid that it was funny - in parts. 😛 :rolleyes:

No I didn’t. lol…

I think people in here are reading too deeply into Night of the Living Dead, though! lol…If they knew anything about George Romero, they’d know that he uses the zombies as a metaphor for humanity. If you watch the three films, Night of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead it is the HUMANS that are more dangerous than the zombies. In each movie the humans turn on each other or try to profit from disaster or manipulate the system, etc. and betray their own humanity. A lot of times it’s a study in human behavior. The zombies are merely the antagonist. I think George Romero’s great… 👍

Oh, I watched Bean’s Holiday (the recent one) with dd one day, she loves this movie, and I just couldn’t believe how horrible it was. :o*
 
The worst movie ever mad was Robert Altman’s “Ready to Wear,” starring Tim Robbins, Julia Roberts, Kim Basinger, and Sophia Loren. It’s a satire on the fashion industry. It’s plot is predictable, it’s script inane, and it’s production values below par. The acting is perfunctory at best, and the direction is plodding and irratic. It trys to shock but merely annoys. Maybe that’s the joke? I actually own a copy, only because I sometimes have trouble sleeping.

Whatever, girl. I enjoyed “Mr. Bean’s Holiday,” only because I’m a huge Rowan Atkinson fan. Just goes to show you, there’s no accounting for taste. On second thought there are worse movies than “Ready to Wear.” My criteria for bad films is that they are major productions with well-known stars and have been heavily promoted but don’t remotely live up to the hype. “Devil’s Advocate” is among these, a thoroughly distasteful film, with Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves, and Charlize Theron. It might have been something worthwhile, with Robert Duvall, George Clooney, and insert sexy blonde’s name here:

Other baaad films without the redeeming amelioration of unintentional hilarity:

Fatso (I think that was the name? A dirty little nothing of a film rife with immorality and just plain dirt).

Grey Gardens (a documentary, I’ll grant that, but one of the most horrifying and depressing films of all time for that).

Another one under the bad can be good category which hasn’t been mentioned is that great cult classic “Reefer Madness” originally a “just say NO to pot movie” put out by some church. Rediculous acting script and plot. Favorite line: It was horrible, horrrible. right before character jumps to her death from a second story window. For once DVD commentary is great because it’s supplied by Mike Nelson of MST3K fame. I do miss that show.

I haven’t seen it. Awful in what way?

Another one to add to the all–time worst list is a pretentious little embolism known as Shadow of the Vampire, with Willem da Foe, creepy enough in ‘normal’ roles, sucking the lifeblood out of the unfortunate viewing audience, and making Gary Oldman’s interpretation of the Dracula character seem like Olivier.
 
“Glen or Glenda” isn’t far behind “Plan 9 From Outer Space.”

But I’m sure I’m forgetting some others.
 
scottywolf777, you mentioned 2 things I’d forgotten about: Joe Bob Briggs and Reefer Madness!

I used to watch Joe Bob at the Drive-In. Loved it! And I have to say, I did like Reefer Madness in a twisted sort of way. A few years ago, a remake was made called Reefer Madness, The Musical. It was on either HBO or SHO and they showed Reefer Madness (the orginal) and then the new one. I have to say, I thought it was very funny.

(Also miss MST3K, too).

Those SAW movies. The brutality is awful. Not good. Have to wonder what is going on in the creator’s mind.
 
Walked out on Prizi’s Honor…the one with Angelica Houston.

Didn’t like American Beauty. Thought that was awful.

Ditto for Lost In Translation.

Disappointed in Titanic. Guess the only one on the planet.

Thought Pearl Harbor with Ben Afleck was terrible.

Did like Groundhog Day and The Mission.

Found that “Lost in Translation” really was lost in translation.
Favorite line from Titanic: “Music to drown by now I know I’m in first class.” strongest memory of it besides it took longer to sink than the real one was running to the bathroom afterwards, all that water I guess.
RE: Ben Afleck lets also add Clear and Present Danger not believable as head of CIA and Dogma a terrible waste of Jay and Silent Bob not to mention offensive to Catholics. Leonard Maltin called it “Dogmeat” and Kevin Smith, a Catholic obviously didn’t pay attention in religion classes. Fallen angels cannot be forgiven no matter how many pleniary indulgences they try for!Sorry!:mad:
