Not one mention of an Ed Wood’s movie, not one mentions of an Alejandro Jodorowsky’s movie, not even a single mention of Plan 9 From Outerspace. I am setting myself for stones to be thrown but I do not believe anyone who had replied so far can fairly make any judgment on naming the worst movie ever made.

Moreover, I still stand by my nomination.

The Beast of Yucca Flat.:hey_bud:
You must not have read all the posts, Quarles. I myself mentioned Plan Nine and so did one or two other posters. A thread about worst movies would be remiss and a half without mentioning the film that won the Golden Turkey award! lol…And Yucca Flats IS bad! I just think Dracula vs. Frankenstein is just as bad! lol And don’t forget Ed Wood’s other stink-bombs: Bride of the Monster, Glen or Glenda, Jail Bait, etc.! 👍

I have an increadably vague memory of Beast of Yucca Flats. I remember it being on TNT’s Monstervision with Joe Bob Briggs and there was something about a mine and that’s about it. Genuinely memorable movie:rolleyes:
BTW who is domno paulo de peco and what order has the initials AOL.? I tried googling it and went on a wild goose chase. I though AOL was America ON Line
Joe Bob Briggs was A TOTAL HOOT to watch! I loved MonsterVision! My buddy and I would get together on Friday nights and just but a gut listening to him. Heck, we didn’t care about the movie as much as Joe Bob’s commentary. I loved it when he did running totals like: two zombies beheaded, three virgins run over by trash trucks, one decapitation, four Asian guys killed by weed-wacker, etc. Oh man, we just laughed all night about it.

I was disheartened to see what a hardcore ATHEIST Joe Bob is. He speaks at these atheist conventions and is a big donar to atheist clubs, etc. Bummer.

And the Incredible Two-Headed Transplant and Laserblast are, IMO, worse than Yucca also. Imagine Laserblast, Quarles. Hippie boy driving in Volkswagon bus finds lasergun in the desert with a bizarre grenade necklace that activates it. Hippie puts on necklace. Hippie turns into alien mutant and shoots sheriff in the outhouse, blows up magazine stands, blows up the post office, shoots a 58 Chevy, kills another hippie, and jumps around like a spastic crazed lunatic wearing a Scooby Doo getup. And this includes Roddy McDowall, Keenan Winn, and the sheriff off of Murder She Wrote! Then throw in clay-mation turtle aliens seeking to retrieve the laserblaster!
The recipe=worse than Yucca, man! lolhttp://www.cabbagestew.com/corvette/images/cannon.jpg

I rest my case! 😃

Fair warning. Immensely popular though it was, I tried to read the book, couldn’t, was subjected to the movie:

Eragon.

The performances, script and special effects were stunning. In a certain way.

All in the course of a single four-hour movie (oh, wait, it only seemed like four hours) we were treated to a wide range of brilliant scripting, insightful character development, and jaw-dropping thespian display such as:

Lead guy: pudgy dull surprise

Lead girl who was cast to look like Arwen: emaciated dull surprise

Sidekick: I-look-like-a-Monty-Python-guy-don’t-I dull surprise

Jeremy Irons: I-need-to-go-to-rehab-STAT dull surprise

Rubber dragon puppet: Rubber dragon puppet dull surprise

Lead evil guy: Wormtongue-was-my-inspiration dull surprise

John Malcovich: phoning-it-in dull surprise

Evil extras: We-stole-these-orc-costumes-from-the-LOTR-set dull surprise

Remainder of cast: varying shades of dull surprise

Scenery: Where’s-Mr.-Frodo dull surprise

With all that going on I wonder why I couldn’t finish the book. And when are Ann McCaffrey and Peter Jackson planning to sue? 😛

well, just off the top of your head… first thing that comes to you??

if you had seen Night of the Living Dead…

you wouldn’t even need that much time…
I haven’t read all the posts, but The Last House on the Left was pretty bad …

Let’s see…

Every single Jacka** movie that came to existence.
Most slasher horror flicks.

Basically any movie that can summarized in one simple word: Pointless.

I swear if you plan on lording any of those movies over the ones I like, I might actually consider punching you in the face.

I know I mentioned this early in the thread on my long list but I have to reinterate it. “The X Files: I Want to Believe” was positively a travesty of film-making. And I’m a raging X Files fan, too!! Never have I wanted to puke during a Mulder and Scully adventure…until that movie!

I don’t watch movies very often- and when I do, I’m picky, so I haven’t seen many that I thought were really bad (and none of them are movies that I sought out to watch on my own- whenever I saw them, I was with someone else who wanted to see them and it wasn’t worth not being around my friends or not doing what somebody else was going to do to avoid seeing them). Here are some of the noteworthy bad ones I’ve seen (in order from least bad to most bad:

5.) Cable Guy- A psychotic cable guy (Jim Carrey) meets a nice customer, and he (the cable guy) imagines that the customer’s his friend simply because he was nice to him. He (the cable guy) stalks him and ruins his life.

4.) Patch Adams- talk about depressing! That was worse than the Oprah’s Book Club book I had to read for a class. It didn’t have that effect on most people I know- but I had major surgery at a teaching hospital when I was a little kid, and seeing how the doctors and students treated patients in that movie (more like they were specimens to be examined and cases to be studied than suffering human beings). Cable Guy was just stupid- this one is haunting.

3.) Eyes Wide Shut- This one’s really bad & I’m embarrassed that I’ve seen it- I wasn’t religious then (I’d never see it now). It’s porn with a satanic ritual theme. I don’t put it in first place though. As bad as porn and satanic orgies are, the movie wasn’t really trying to push that so much as it was an attempt to make a certain star who “won’t come out of the closet” (a South Park reference- I know, another bad show) look heterosexual.

2.) The Condemned- prisoners are dropped on an island with cameras all around so subscribers to a website can watch them kill each other. Sadly, many really would watch something like that online. It’s worse than the porn movie because it’s a scenario I could really see happening.

1.) Titanic- A rich girl from a rich family has a comfortable life, and a rich fiance’ who treats her well- until she cheats on him with a poor man she met on the boat- naturally upsetting her family. Since the family and fiance’ are rich and proper, they are villified- and since the playboy she had her fling with is poor and doesn’t care about being proper, he is good. It was the “classic” of my high school days- people couldn’t wait to play the music from it in band (and I have to admit that the music is very good as far as movie soundtracks go), the song from it was always played on the radio- and I’m sure people still dance to it at high school proms. Everybody talked about it, and everybody thought the world of it. It got all kinds of praise, it broke box office records, and was an award-winner. It was the movie that even many good, intelligent people saw and loved- they failed to recognize it for the filth that it is. That is why I name “Titanic” the worst movie ever made. Bad literature that everyone knows is bad is bad enough- the worst bad literature is that which is bad, but masks itself as good.

I saw Eyes Wide Shut as well. What a horrible hairball of a film. The best thing about it was the one-note piano score—as played by Fluffy the Trained Chicken.

Guilty as charged.

I’ve seen some pretty bad movies. A few that stick out in my mind are ‘Nothing but Trouble’, ‘Tango and Cash’ <—Was recently on TV, so I turned the channel after the first 20 minutes, ‘The Secret of My Success’ <—Michael J. Fox sleeping with his non-blood related aunt ugh…, and ‘Spike of Bensonhurst’ <—THREW out this VHS, ‘Transformers’ <–Waste of time, money, and saw it on my birthday to boot, America’s Sweethearts<----My mother fell asleep during that one, and Castaway <----I hate you Tom Hanks hahaha:D

From looking over a lot of the nominations, it seems that so many leads such sheltered lives.

🤷

**The worst bad literature is that which is bad, but masks itself as good!
I like this one line but, Not for this Movie! You’re way off on this one!!!

The Rich people looked down at the Poor people in this movie & that is wrong!
Money isn’t everything!
There’s more to life than being a rich snob who thinks your better than everybody else!
There are real people in the world with real problems & real feelings, not fake people!

And the dramatic way this ship goes down & every little detail is awesome to see!
The way they captured every small detail, WOW!
Amazing Movie!**

I better not be one of them. Honestly, you can use violence, suggestive themes, and swearing all you want.

Just make sure you do it in a way that’s not redundant, tasteless, and that your story actually has a tangible plot. -.-;;

I’m assuming you meant the original? Looked completely amateurish imo. I didn’t watch it in full, just caught a couple scenes on Youtube since I heard it was supposed to be a very good flick. Anyways, that was all I needed to judge how bad it was.
