Over these last 50 years nuns and priests have taken a wrecking ball to the Church. If only they could have been fired and lost access to the sheep they were supposed to be serving.
to be fair, the heretical nuns and priests have been wrecking the Church for more than 50 years. It’s started at least 100-150 years ago.

^^This. Let’s just say a prayer for her and move on.
She’s just another politician, rather boring and not worth getting worked up about.
She is currently 3rd in line for the Presidency of the United States.

Had Pres. Trump been voted “Guilty” by the Senate and been made to leave the Presidency, it would have gone to VP Mike Pence, who is, if it’s possible, even more despised by the Democrats. It’s quite feasible that they would have found a reason to impeach and dismiss him from the Presidency and Speaker Pelosi would have ascended to the highest position in the land, and arguably held the most power of any leader (other than the Pope) in the world.

Boring? i don’t think so.

I hope that her constituents vote her out of office this year. Not likely, but it would be wonderful if the Christians in her district made a decision to take her power away and give it to someone less extreme (or should I say, less Democratic Party Line). But apparently many Christians, including Catholics, agree with her on many issues. So sad.

Come now, that’s a lot of “ifs”.
First of all, I never thought there was more than a 5-10 percent chance at best that President Trump would be removed from office.
Second of all, VP Pence is an ordinary politician who has done nothing dramatic, spent a dozen years in the House before he was governor of Indiana, probably knows a goodly percentage of Congress personally, and is unlikely to be impeached.

If you think the lady is interesting enough to merit a discussion thread, fine, but engaging in unlikely “sky is falling” what-ifs is not productive.

The tone of “let’s judge how good of a Catholic this person is” threads is counter to our duty to be demonstrating love.

This is true, but I can see how people get justifiably frustrated with public figures running around announcing they are Catholic and then promoting abortion and demonstrating a pretty blatant “lack of love” themselves.

Perhaps some real, calm, non-judgmental Catholics could simply get together and pray a Rosary outside Nancy’s office, without saying anything more than the prayers.

Or have a Mass said for her.

“Rosaries for Pelosi” does have a ring to it.

Not sure how you’d find prayer or one person praying for their opponent as despicable? That is exactly what Christ commanded us to do.

It’s because a lot of people don’t believe her. But I think this video does a good job of explaining that Nancy most likely DOES pray for Trump and is practicing the version of Catholicism she was taught by the Trinity College radical nuns.

Worth watching the video for those who did not. Very interesting and honestly sad.

She is very old. She is probably at the end of her career. Probably all the funny faces she has done recently at Trump et co were out of an uncontrollable desire to be human in a money-driven-power-anointed world of politics.as well as to be popular. It is hard being unpopular if you care.
As any elder lady her view on Catholicism is what she considers as correct. Sometime people criticize her like she is a 30-something hit of the political scene and will change the world from its roots and let’s all.expect something from.Nancy for a change…
She probably just made compromises in order to be financially successful and take care of her family and as bad as it sounds it is what most leaders have been doing for thousands of years actually. In front of God maybe she will get points for taling care of her family who knows what He sees, what He knows…

Because she is lying and it is despicable to lie about prayer. She is horrendous and will sell out every value for profit, power, and to fit in with her party.

If she truly wished for his success, she would recognize the tremendous success he has created despite her and her cronies fighting his every effort. True human love for others as children if God, when acting as people of faith, really does not even make possible that we do not seek to see what is good in them.

All those Democrat women in their stupid white suits were waiting on Nancy’s cues…when to clap, what to see as good. So at her leadership, they saw nothing good in people being able to buy food for themselves. Nothing good about more minority and youth bring employed. Nothing good in higher wages, or better returns on investments for retirement, or greater peace, or less terrorism. They would rather see violence, poverty, pestilence, starvation and the death of democracy than lose a bit if power. So yes, she is reprehensible.

I have yet to meet anyone who called themselves devout who were not acting in pure self interest
Those who are devout recognize they can always be more devoted and do better and don’t brag about how they are doing in the journey.

Because she is lying and it is despicable to lie about prayer. She is horrendous
Once again, unless you have the ability to read Mrs Pelosi’s heart, or you have a 24X7X365 camera monitoring her words and her thoughts, you cannot know that “she is lying”.

The Church teaches against rash judgement.

We are called to love everyone. To say any person is “horrendous” is contrary to our commands as Christians.

I know hundreds of people who would describe themselves as “devout Catholics”, my Pastor and myself being two of them. To refer to oneself as devout is not bragging, it is a statement of truth. It means that one abides by the precepts of the Church, is loyal to all of Her teachings, is humble under Her authority.

That’s an interesting take. My impression of all the faces and mouth twitching and ripping of to the paper is that she’s warped from years of political partisanship and hatreds and the lust for power. I could not look at her at the State of the Union. She seemed to have some kind of mental illness and I felt bad for her. And please nobody ask me how I know this. I don’t know it. It’s just my impression. I don’t care if she’s a Democratic or Republican. I’d feel the same either way.

She is not loyal to Church teachings.

I agree. I am tired of seeing threads on politicians on both sides of the aisle.
I see the topic a little differently. The larger issue is the identified failure of the Church to deal with the wayward among its religious. How is it that a person can remain a Catholic nun, can run a school called Catholic, and teach a corrupted faith? And if the order from which these nuns originate will not correct its members, how can that order be called catholic?

Is Nancy Pelosi a nun?
