Gould: In any local area, a species does not arise gradually by the steady transformation of its ancestors; it appears all at once and ‘fully formed’.
Barbarian: I’d still like to see an incompletely formed organism in the fossil record. Apparently, no one knows of one.
Can anyone detect the difference in Barbarian’s question and what Gould stated?
The fact that Barbarian has taken this approach is “evidence” as I see it. I’ll ask myself how much confidence can a person have in evolutionary theory when this kind of thing happens (as it does frequently).
