It is people thinking that they can just do what they want is what “sprang” up all these different denominations and believes. Person A disagreed with Person B, therefore person B started church B. Person C disagreed with person A and B therefore person C started church C. Person D disagreed with person A, B, and C therefore person D started church D. Person E… (I can just keep going){hence:}
2) many people actually believe that this system has the authority to change, interpret and or do away with scripture as it sees fit.
watch this, I believe that the Bible is the expressed word of the Creator and redeemer of all mankind. 2 Timothy 3:16,17
there is absolutely no where in the bible that Jesus changed His Ten Commandments. in fact, it states that they are Eternal psalms 119:149-152. and, He fulfilled the ceremonial laws when He gave his life as a sacrifice for all of us(colo chapt 2 & Levi 23).Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy,
but to fulfill.
The only way to find out if x church is the “true” church is to look at church history, scripture, and the writings of the ECF (Early Church Fathers). Did Christians in 70 A.D. believe this? Did Christians in 40 A.D. believe this? How did Christians in 35 A.D. worship?
Find this information out and then compare it to the churches of today. Which group has really stood the test of time? Which group teaches what the Christians taught in 35 AD, 40 AD, 70 AD, and 100 AD etc? Which group believes what the Christians believed in 35 AD, 40 AD, 70 AD, 100 AD, etc?
By the way I 100% agree with you when you say that the bible is the word of God and is for everyone. I also 100% agree with you when you say that Jesus didn’t come to change the law but fulfill it.
I believe because of Christ’s death and resurrection we are in a NEW convent with the Lord. A convent that did not do away with the old but just “fulfilled” it. We are blessed to be apart of the NEW convent!
