WASHINGTON (CNS) — The decline of traditional marriage in America continues to affect students’ education and the future welfare of the Catholic Church, said a University of Virginia professor at a symposium at The Catholic University of America.

"“The creation of the birth control pill has been one of the most monumental technologies that has changed society”, Alvare said. She added that the morning-after pill has become the symbol of freedom from childbearing and an aid to equality between men and women when it comes to sexual freedom.
“Since the advent of this technology, we actually have more out-of-wedlock pregnancies, more out-of-wedlock births, more abortions, more cohabitation, more divorce and sexually transmitted diseases,” said Alvare.”

Well, here is a 21 year old male who practices abstinence,intends to be married to one woman for life, and not use contraception! 👍 At least two of us,my fiance included, go against the grain!

How sad that your lifestyle is,in this day and age going ‘against the grain’.

Most US Bishops still have not strongly encouraged the reading the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition” in all their Diocese Parishes.

Teaching is the main job of Bishops.
In this day of Secularism and Relativism, it is absolutely critical that all Catholics know and understand their Faith.

Since the CCC is the only catechism from the Magisterium, when is this going to happen ? ? ? ?
 
This is not just a management issue. Each Catholic is called to make an effort as well.

Yes, today faithful Catholics have become the counterculture. The barbarians have entered the city. Those who desire holiness should not participate in immoral lifestyles. What does the Bible tell us? You shall not follow the masses in doing evil.
