I think NK is about the only country where they would sentence someone to 15 years imprisonment with hard labor just for attempted theft of a propaganda poster.
It’s like they are intentionally trying to deter the tourism $, which I’m sure they want (foreign currency)

I’d say we have fewer rules and are more lax about enforcement compared to many countries. Remember the basketball players Trump rescued from China? They were going to do some hard time for their crime. I doubt it was their first experience shoplifting, but in the US it’s not going to put you in jail in most cases (lower value stuff)Oh, I just had a thought. But I read in some US cities criminals were let out of jail… Some are let out over and over again… that’s what I’m talking about… and they are visitors, too. Not citizens…
