Is it a big surprise he’s being treated with respect? He’s there at the invitation of the government. The only North Koreans that are permitted to interact with the crew are trained to put on a respectful show.
I’d say we have fewer rules and are more lax about enforcement compared to many countries. Remember the basketball players Trump rescued from China? They were going to do some hard time for their crime. I doubt it was their first experience shoplifting, but in the US it’s not going to put you in jail in most cases (lower value stuff)Oh, I just had a thought. Hope I don’t derail the thread… Why don’t visitors to USA have to obey the rules? Just wondering.
Who said they don’t? There are a whole lot of tax rules that foreigners have to follow. Why don’t visitors to USA have to obey the rules?
I’m not aware that visitors to the US get a waiver exempting them from following the law. Where did you ever get such an idea?Oh, I just had a thought. Hope I don’t derail the thread… Why don’t visitors to USA have to obey the rules? Just wondering.
The U.S. incarcerates more people, for more time, than just about any other developed nation in the world. So I’m not so sure this is true. But I read in some US cities criminals were let out of jail… Some are let out over and over again… that’s what I’m talking about… and they are visitors, too. Not citizens…
