NBC Science Contributor Who Reported About Having Coronavirus Admits He Never Had It​

NBC and MSNBC science contributor Dr. Joseph Fair documented his battle with coronavirus — until admitting he did not actually have it after all.

The Daily Caller reported Friday: “Dr. Joseph Fair, a virologist, believed he had the virus and appeared on air numerous times to discuss his struggle with illness in May and June. On Tuesday, Fair admitted that he tested negative for the virus multiple times but had originally believed he had it regardless. Fair also tested negative upon taking an antibody test.”

Fair’s timeline on Twitter documents his journey over the past two months, from announcing that he had “come down with COVID” on May 13, to revealing on July 7 that he had not. . . . .

It is curious … I hope they figure out what he had as it sounded serious but it also makes one wonder about the numbers in the “probably” category.\

As you know in some jurisdictions the report confirmed and probable COVID as one lump sum number and do not break it out … others report them separately - Tested Positive for COVID and Presumptive COVID [or Suspected COVID]
 
Wait. A scientist didn’t believe data and went on to publicly go against that data because it didn’t fit the narrative? Impossible! Scientists never do that. . . .

That’s not relevant to the story at all. It’s about how Fair tested negative for COVID antibodies, he wasn’t disputing any data on the disease or anything.
 
The headline here makes it seem as though Dr. Fair was lying about having the virus. Leave it to Breitbart for reporting the story this way. What would be the motivation for pretending to have the virus? He was seriously ill. He had symptoms which mimicked the coronavirus and it was his doctors who treated his condition as if he had the virus despite three negative tests and one weak positive test. The negative antibody test indicated that he probably did not have the virus although it has not been confirmed that antibody immunity develops in everyone who has had the virus. Further, some of the earlier tests for coronavirus were not so reliable.

I remember seeing mentions in the past that about one in a hundred that believe they have the Wuhan virus test positive for it.

Just how much plausible deniability is there?

I understand doubt of one test.
But several…?

Uh, plenty? He hasn’t disputed scientific consensus on the disease, which is what @Mrchatsworth was referring to.
 
One of the tests came back positive. And, as noted in my previous post, it was the doctors in the New Orleans hospital who believed he had the virus based on his symptoms and treated him for it.
 
His actions suggest he was pretending.

If you want to affirm him go right ahead.
