This is what you call strict? To park downtown will cost you about as much and they just raised the fees again.
I went to traffic court there once. Tons of people, and 99% get the “I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt” treatment from the judge. Line moves faster than a communion line.
I hadn’t even considered the monitary aspect but:
An FOID card is required to purchase any gun (a check for mental stabillity, felony, illegal
immigrant, domestic abuse)
Any gun in Chicago must be registered
The owner of any gun in Chicago must complete a fireams safety couse
Background check and fingerprints must be submitted to police
Assault weapons are totally banned
Any magazine holding over ten rounds is banned
The gun is not allowed outside of the owners residence
If multiple guns are owned all but one must be locked
Cnceal/ Carry permits are not available and open carry is not allowed
The owner can be prosecuted if a minor under 14 gains access to his gun
Air rifles over .18 cal are regulated
There is no preemption (someone with a CC license valid in another state cannot bring a
firearm to Chicago)
Yes, I would call this fairly strict, what would your idea of strict be?
I’m not sure what the reference to traffic court has to do with firearms.
