Nebraska ordination prompts a first in Scotland/world
A MASS of thanksgiving for the ordination of Fr Simon Harkins, Priestly Fraternity of St Peter, will be held tomorrow at St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh.
Cardinal Keith O’Brien will preside at the service that follows the ordination of Fr Harkins, FSSP, in Lincoln, Nebraska, US.
Fra Fredrik Crichton-Stuart, trustee of Una Voce Scotland, said: “This is the first time in the UK— and possibly in the world—that a Cardinal Primate will attend a First Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite in his own diocesan cathedral and preach for the occasion.”
