I believe my comment had something to do with documents put out by the Holy See. So, yes, I would be suprised if there was one I hadn’t seen saying that there were absolutely no schismatic SSPX priests. Again, the Vatican has steered clear of the topic in the documents they’ve put out save for the one I gave.You’d be surprised. One of my professors heads to Rome all the time to do research at the Vatican Library, and he’s assured me the SSPX is more “established” at the Vatican than most people would care to believe. Other than that, I do not care to get in thread number 3,548,723 arguing about whether good Catholics can go to SSPX Masses. I’ve read much on the subject, and my answer is a very common answer, (yes) and I’ll leave it at that.
As for what I care to believe. I care to believe that the SSPX is in fine standing with Rome, that excommunications have been lifted, etc. Of course, that doesn’t make it true. I’m not sure what your friend means by established. I doubt it means the above.
