I don’t think any of us think things are easy for each other really, we all have high times, low times and very low times, i’m going through my own struggles at the moment, trying to find the answers on why god lets different things happen to different people. Theres a saying something like, God only gives us what we CAN handle, i know this doesn’t solve your problem, i have a problem understanding it! But keep strong, worry less, pray more, light a candle at home and pray.

One of the most difficult things for us to do is to stop comparing ourselves to others. Most often, we do not do this accurately. People tend to hide their problems and difficulties from others rather than wear them on their sleeve. It would be close to impossible to assess another person’s degree of life difficulty without some sort of divine insight.

I can’t say that I have experienced your exact dilemma, but I have had my own trials that have tested my faith and still are from time to time. I believe it was already stated we do not know the burdens others carry, but I do know it is difficult to see beyond our own. I do know this personally, for I too heard “oh, that sucks” and etc.
All I can offer are my prayers for you, my sincere understanding of how you might feel, and my love as your Catholic brother in Christ.
O Lord, we bring before You the distress and
dangers of peoples and nations, the pleas of
the imprisoned and the captive, the sorrows of
the grief-stricken, the needs of refugees, the
impotence of the weak, the hunger of the poor,
the cries of the unborn for justice, the weariness
of the despondent, the despair of the homeless,
and the weakness of the aging. O Lord, stay
close to all of them.
We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever.

Thank you. I still don’t know what to do exactly. I’m afraid if I walk away I’ll be throwing away something that could be good if I jut give it time. But I’m tired of being miserable by staying. I keep praying on it but I’m not getting any answers. Just horrible headaches that make me feel like I may have an anyeurism (sp?) and die at any moment. I can’t even stand to look at picture of babies or see ads with happy families. And all the parenting advice I can find is from married moms. Funny, most of the depression advice I find is from married people too. And all the single parent advice operates off the notion that I get every other weekend to myself and have an infinite supply of friends and family willing to parent for me. I won’t lie. I feel like I’m being punished for something. And I don’t know what else to do to atone because I don’t know what I’m being punished for. If God wants us to be happy He has a funny way of showing it. It’s like I should be happy according to someone else’s idea of what should make me happy and not my own.
