O most holy apostle, Saint Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honoureth and invoketh thee universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, and of things almost despaired of.

Pray for me, who am so miserable. Make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded to thee, to bring visible and speedy help where help was almost despaired of.

Come to mine assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolation and succor of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly For ChaChaJ’s situation to improve and that I may praise God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity.

I promise thee, O blessed Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favour, to always honour thee as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to thee.

Amen.

May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, and loved in all the tabernacles until the end of time. Amen.

May the most Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised and glorified now and forever. Amen

St. Jude pray for us and hear our prayers. Amen.

Blessed be the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Blessed be the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Blessed be St. Jude Thaddeus, in all the world and for all Eternity.

Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory Be.

Dear Lady,

I am not reading all the prayer posts in reply to your request so don’t know if this is a duplicate, but wanted to offer a few helps in addition to the prayers I am saying for you right now:
  1. Try to read the book “Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends” by Bruce Fisher and Robert Alberti. Our parish uses this as a key component to our divorce support group.
  2. Try to find a Catholic divorce support group. Check your diocese website. If you can’t find a Catholic one, search for a Christian one. It’s important to have others who can relate to the pain you’re suffering in addition to the financial and logistical issues.
  3. Search your area for Perpetual Adoration chapels. You don’t NEED to sign up to be a regular adorer, but that would be wonderful if you could swing it…might be good for your child/children to heal also.
  4. Catholic Hospitals in particular, but other hospitals also have chapels, sometimes with the Eucharist reserved, and they are open many hours each day. In fact, you might ask at the emergency entrance if it would be possible for you to go there through their access if you need to talk to Him face to face outside visiting hours.
And know that the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and Our Lady love you more than you can imagine. God bless you.
Thank you for your suggestions, but I am not divorced. I have never been married. My son’s father decided the day I found out I was pregnant that he wanted nothing to do with me or our child. He later changed his mind and decided he wanted to be a part of his child’s life, but still wanted nothing to do with me. That’s one of the hardest things I have to deal with, because even though he’s been horrible, he got rewarded with a wife (who is a truly wonderful woman, I am extremely grateful that my son has such a lady for a stepmother), a ready-made family in her children, and new children of his own. I, however, struggled to support and raise my child (still do) and make all the right decisions yet my reward is to remain single and lonely and stressed out and miserable and unloved. As far as I can tell my child isn’t suffering from anything, except the lack of a full family (except when he’s at his dad’s) and I’m usually so stressed and tired I’m not as fun and patient as a mother should be. But to him this is how it’s always been so he doesn’t know any better. I dread the day he realizes this isn’t the way it’s supposed to be.

Dear ChaCha, I have just read through your responses. What strikes me is how angry you are. Angry at others, angry at your circumstances, angry at God even? You compare your life to others around you and you are jealous of them. Please do not think I am minimizing your struggles and challenges, I am not. But most of your challenges can be improved with a change in attitude. I am going to give you a video to watch, that always shakes me right out of my self-pity when I start wallowing in it. You’ll understand when you finish it, why I asked you to watch it. This is a person who has every outward reason to have lived his life in bitterness and anger at God, and in fact, he did try to commit suicide at one point. But look at what God has done with his life, and then compare yourself to HIM for a change, and be grateful.

Nick Vujicic - No Arms, No Legs, No Worries

There are more videos of Nick, he’s gotten married and now had a baby! And he’s grateful for his life.

You are looking for people to be jealous of, and there will always be people who are better off (on the outside) than you, as well as people who are worse off (on the outside) than you. Some people are looking at your life with the same envy and jealousy as you are experiencing toward your sister and others. You may not believe it, but I guarantee - there’s someone who sees your precious little boy and envies you.

Anyway I’m not trying to make you feel guilty. Understand that YOU have to take care of yourself and I think you do need counseling and possibly another trial of anti-depressants. I have chronic depression and I know what it sounds like when I start down that long, dark road. Please get some help. You will be in my prayers.

ChaChaJ I feel for you as I am in pretty much the same boat and feel the exact same way you do. That everyone around me is happy and I am an ungrateful wretch and made to feel guilty about it. I struggle constantly for good things to happen in my daughters and my life and feel that my efforts are only rewarded with more misery. I will pray for you.

I’m new to this forum and don’t know how wordy/brief to be, so I won’t go into a ton of detail. I’ll just say I’m a 32-year-old single mother. Single as in I’ve never been married and my son’s father has very little to do with him, unless it’s convenient for him. I have hit a new low of unhappiness in my life. It seems no matter how much I pray or how hard I try, nothing good every happens. And even when I think something good is going to happen, those hopes get dashed to bits before they ever have a chance to fully get started. I had another issue last night. This morning I couldn’t sleep, so I got my child ready for school and took him early so I could stop by the church to light a candle and say a few prayers (my son goes to Catholic school), and the church was locked. I’m sure I should have just checked the hours before I went, but it was 7:45 on a Tuesday. I honestly felt like God didn’t care. And I can’t even type that without tearing up, and I’m at work. So I don’t know what to do. All my friends and family are married and have families and are very happy with where they are, and I’ve come to learn that happy people don’t like to be reminded that there are unhappy people in the world, so whenever I have a problem it either gets ignored or I just hear “Oh, that sucks, I’m sure things will get better.” But, guess what? They’re not getting better. In fact, I haven’t tracked them or anything, but it just seems things are getting progressively worse. Any advice? I can give details if needed. Thank you for your time.
I have been wrestling with myself, mentally of course. I wondered whether or not to write this as it won’t be something that you like to read. I have decided to throw caution to the wind however because I know someone very much like you. I would like to zero in on what I perceive to be your problem with relationships. The person in my life is a beautiful, intelligent and accomplished woman. She is one of my very favorite people in the world. She has a big heart. But her over the top aggressive personality seems to drive men away. She is outspoken to a fault and is very blunt about telling people where they are wrong or what they are doing wrong. I used to think that she didn’t even realize that her personality can be a put off but now I’m convinced that she does know to a degree but does not realize just how off putting it is. I tell you this because it is possible that there is something in your personality that may need a little work. I’m thinking of the man who was in your life and then POOF he was gone. Could it be possible that he picked up some depressing vibes from you and decided that he didn’t want to deal with it? I too am descended from the Celts. I know the personality of many a Celtic descendant. I’m related to some. And if the fella is as in touch with his roots as it seems, perhaps he has this trait (think Timothy Cardinal Dolan). If that is his personality as I suspect it is, he has no time to develop a relationship with someone who is constantly down. He may be very social and would enjoy a more together a person who can sit beside him with his friends and lend a bit of sparkle to the conversation. If he has enough of the old sod in his personality he may even enjoy the discussion on a topic with which you and he disagree. It is said that an Irishman, when he encounters a new person in the pub, he will straight away determine what side of an issue the fella is on and choose the opposite side just for sport.
If any of this hits home perhaps you could stop hoping for things to change constantly and do a bit of soul searching to determine what you should change about yourself. Become an interesting person. It seems that you are all wrapped up in yourself Stop if for only a year thinking about yourself at all except how you can improve. Learn something new. Hee-hee, take up beekeeping. (Hat tip to TRJ)

If none of this applies, a thousand pardons. I’m a stranger and could be reading your posts all wrong.
