I guess I’ve been rejected as it’s been six weeks with no reply?! I went through the steps several times to ensure that I requested correctly. I’m confused at this point.😦

I’m trying to understand, but I don’t. I try to be a good Catholic, to be prayerful, but I often meet up with so much hostility and mean-spiritedness that it’s draining and hurtful. This rejection really doesn’t help.

I’ve been prayerfully discerning whether I should continue visiting CAF as there’s been so much negativity and forum rules are often bent if not broken, and my time could be better spent. :sad_yes: There are some very nice people here, and I hope to occasionally keep in touch.
For the most part I post only in the Prayer Intentions forum. You can do that without being named a Prayer Warrior! Maybe you should start some prayer thread about CAF itself. Remember being a Prayer Warrior on CAF is a title plus a promise. You can keep the promise (answer at least 1 prayer intention a week) without the Prayer Warrior title under your name! Just don’t expect it and someday it will be there. (If not, then it is simply God’s will!)

Christ said that we would meet hostility just as He did. He didn’t say we would understand this, but that we should expect and accept it. Pray that you are not discouraged by it. Today is Good Friday; of all days we should remember today how Christ answered hostility with love.

Keep reporting bad posts to the moderator. If you can’t bear with the forum at all, then of course you can leave. I’ll pray for you.

:blessyou: Thank you for your prayers and encouraging words. I appreciate it very much. I haven’t been visiting the prayer intention page lately, but I hope to again soon.

The only part of your post I disagree with is the idea of it not being God’s will. That kinda sounds like the behaviour of those in charge, even when questionable or neglectful, is able to state God’s will beyond reproach. But sometimes God’s will isn’t done even by good, well-intentioned believers. Sometimes mistakes are made.

By “God’s will” I was talking about His permissive will. No evil (even sin in others) happens unless He permits it (allows it to happen); that is a reason for trust even when bad things happen. This is what Christ prayed for when He said “Not My will but Thy will be done”. But what God wants in the first place (His will in another sense) is not done when we disobey. The fact that God permits sin (allows it to happen) is no excuse for sinning (not doing His will in the first place).

Thanks for the clarification. Hope you will be blessed abundantly this Easter Season .😃

How about praying for all of the people that begin idiotic threads. I HAVE to leave. This site ALLOWS too much GARBAGE for A Christian?Catholic Site.I might as well visit a porn site for all the sexual content on here. I am out of here!!!

I, too, have seen some astounding posts in these “halls.” Some of them are perilously close to heresy and others are astonishingly-beautiful statements of faith. One of the threads I follow is “Why do you think there are so few 20-somethings and 30-somethings in church…” When I read about some of the really bad catechesis that happened during the Post-Vatican-II decades of the 7080’s, I just can’t get my head around how so many could be so deceived and then themselves become deceivers.

If you turn to CCC articles 385-407, there is our explanation of why there is moral evil, how it got here, and what God – and God alone – can do with it. I believe those who come here to these forums to vituperate against the Church, its leaders, and its members fall into that category of moral evil. If one combines that passage of the CCC with Matthew 18:6-7, one finds that the folks who think it’s no big deal to be so negative do indeed have a reckoning of account which might be quite uncomfortable. The Gospel Passage (from the NAB) says: “6d “Whoever causes one of these little ones* who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. 7* Woe to the world because of things that cause sin! Such things must come, but woe to the one through whom they come!”

Prayer Warrior, Intercessor, or just someone browsing through the topics – when you see things that are clearly contrary to Tradition and the Magisterium – I think the best we can do is stop right there and intercede on their behalf for God’s mercy. I’ve never investigated the process for blowing the whistle on someone who abuses the forum rules, but I imagine someone knows how to do that – and perhaps I should make it my responsibility to learn.

DO keep praying, and please** DO** keep visiting. Our prayers, our faith, and our conformity to the Gospel as taught by and through the Church work together to be the best shield against that towering wave of fiery darts aimed at us.

Still in need for prayers for a nightmare in my family that won’t good away any time soon. Thank you all.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is
the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen

I’ll add you to my Rosary too.

How do I join? Do I need to be a regular member or junior member?

See the instructions in POST #5.

I don’t know if a trial member can join, but I would say you should try it. Note that it can take WEEKS for “Prayer Warrior” to show up under your user name, no matter what kind of user you are. So you really get to exercise the virtue of patience, especially in your case! Apply, and then just don’t worry about it; you can pray just as well without the title. One day the title will be there!

I’d love to be a prayer warrior. This should help me focus my prayers better.

Be sure you followed the technical instructions in post #5.

After that it can take a few weeks to get Prayer Warrior under your name (that’s the only OK you’ll get). You can pray and post in Prayer Intentions just as well without being a Prayer Warrior. Being a Prayer Warrior is just a promise to pray once a week, and lets people know that you’ve made that promise.

 I did that twice in February and nothing happened. Really disgusted and frustrated me as I didn’t know that no one would acknowledge my request.

Now I’m just thinking of withdrawing my request as I’m a prayer warrior whether CAF says so or not. I pray for CAF intentions fairly regularly, though I’m not always able to post.

In that event I most likely will not be visiting the Prayer Intentions page as seeing this thread at the top will continue to frustrate me and I don’t want that. :nope:

Prayers sent.
Thank you. I appreciate all prayers said on my behalf as I’m suffering a lot right now, mainly from the mean-spirited, bad behaviour of fellow Catholics. Some Catholics, both lay and clergy, have really disappointed me, and those that I had thought of as pillars aren’t.

I feel like the ground is shifting beneath me and I can’t get a foothold. The mean words, snubbing and cliquish behaviour I’ve experienced is like shards of glass and so isolating.

I think that’s why this prayer warrior rejection pains me so much-it just adds to my pain. This is why I’m skeptical of CAF, even the more regular and senior members. I just don’t know who I can trust. :sad_yes:

Christ couldn’t trust those who put Him to death or His friends who abandoned Him, and yet He said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”. I know it is very hard, but I doubt that most of the members of CAF are rejecting you as Christ’s enemies rejected Him. Perhaps some of them are neglecting you rather than rejecting you. Forgive them their carelessness. Remember that Christ did not promise us the approval of others. Consider whether you are perhaps too sensitive. I very much apologize if I am being insensitive to you here; I don’t mean to hurt you.

My comments about fellow Catholics who are hurting me are those in my parish and geographical area. I didn’t say that they were mostly CAF members. But I’ve often been appalled at the bad attitudes of CAF posts.

As for imitating Christ in His forgiveness, I am well aware of that. I’ve forgiven often. But to me that doesn’t excuse the bad behaviour.

My level of sensitivity isn’t the problem, either. I often find it disturbing how those who hurt others sometimes blame others for being too sensitive rather than take responsibility for their actions. What a convenient cop-out. (I’m not directing this at you necessarily.)

Also wanted to add that it’s upsetting to see people who requested to be prayer warriors after me who now are but I was never acknowledged. I think of that as neglectful. I know a lot of people who would be upset by that. Perhaps those guilty of these things should just rectify them- that strikes me as the Christian thing to do. That it why I offered those prayers on the prayer warrior thread. It IS a sore point and will continue to be.

Just something to think about nkbeth.
