I am inclined to think you might want to add the fundamental and evangelical churches; they tend towards a plain reading of such issues in Scripture. The two leading groups on Prop. 8 were the Catholic Church and the LDS, mainly because they were the two largest organizations, but they were certainly joined by the more conservative Protestant churches.I had a similiar situation at our Church-believe it or not not all Episcopal congregations agree with same sex Weddings-A older couple commetned at our coffee hour that they got married in New England-my response was the same = “oh”
It was a civil ceremony -not a Church one -the Rector did not comment on it -I however found myself quite uncomfortable and realized it was about my feelings not theirs-whether I sanction this wedding is of zero importance to them or others-I went back to them later and congratulated them-said I was a bit stunned-“yes we get that a lot” they said" -Love the sinner not the sin
I do feel in the next 10 years the Catholic and Mormon Churches will be the only major Churches not sanctioning same sex nuptials-, forgot the Orthodox surely they will not sanction it as well
